A large number of sellers cleared their inventory, and Amazon adjusted the FBA liquidation fee structure

Recently, there have been a lot of bad news in the cross-border circle. Sales have not increased, inventory capacity has decreased, and a large number of sellers have collapsed one after another. The large amount of inventory stranded in FBA has also begun to cause headaches for many sellers. Because goods are piled up in inventory for a long time and face high storage fees, many sellers have begun to pay attention to the issue of clearing inventory.

Just today, in response to the inventory clearance issue, Amazon UK released a new announcement regarding FBA liquidation fees.

The following is the original announcement:

According to the announcement, in order to help sellers better clear backlog inventory or goods returned by buyers, Amazon will adjust the fee structure of FBA liquidation from September 8, 2021. For liquidated inventory, not only will a processing fee be charged based on the size and weight of the goods, but also a referral fee .

During this process, sellers will receive a return fee of 5% to 20% of the average selling price of the goods. After the policy takes effect, sellers will find this change when they enter any inventory plan page and create a removal order.

It is worth noting that, in fact, as early as the beginning of June, Amazon launched an inventory liquidation plan, which received a lot of crazy complaints from sellers at the time. In just two months, Amazon is adjusting its charging structure again. Once this policy comes out, it will naturally receive protests from everyone.

Seller A: Things are already bad enough lately. Not only do I have to pay to clear my inventory, I also have to pay a 15% referral fee. I would rather slash the price of my overstocked inventory…

Seller B: Amazon is so greedy, they charge various fees in various ways

Seller C: I really can’t do this any longer. I need to change my career as soon as possible.

It is reported that the policy will officially take effect on September 8, 2021 (Central European Time), so any liquidation orders submitted by sellers before 11:59 pm on September 7 will still enjoy free FBA liquidation services.

At present, Amazon's adjustment of FBA liquidation fees is still quite controversial and not very friendly to sellers, but sellers are still reminded to adjust their countermeasures in a timely manner according to their own inventory situation. After all, the inventory capacity of many sellers has been compressed several times recently and is no longer as good as before. Therefore, they should choose to clear inventory appropriately to avoid affecting stocking for the upcoming Halloween peak season.
