Facebook updates copyright protection tools to combat brand infringement!

To help brands combat unauthorized misappropriation of intellectual property, Facebook has rolled out a new round of updates to its business and advertising intellectual property tools, also known as Brand Copyright Protection.

As shown in the picture above, Facebook's brand copyright protection tool allows companies to upload pictures of their authorized IP products, and then the Facebook system will use these pictures as a reference to detect infringements in post pictures on the platform and market product listings.

Facebook said that Brand Copyright Protection allows registered trademark owners to search and report content that they believe infringes their intellectual property rights, and provides a more simplified and automated operating process.

Companies need to upload their trademark certificates and related credentials on the Facebook platform. After passing the review, they can use the tool to detect potential infringements.

The tool allows businesses to upload and save up to 10 images, such as brand logos and product images, to scan Facebook and Instagram for similar content. Currently, businesses cannot save search results and can only search on a case-by-case basis.

At the same time, this update will provide continuous tracking and alert capabilities to help companies better identify potential infringements of their licensed product IP.

In addition to this, Facebook has expanded the tool’s search capabilities beyond paid advertising, and brands can now also search for and report Instagram accounts and posts that infringe their intellectual property rights.

This is a significant feature that will help brands detect more infringements and could eventually be used more widely in influencer posts or other paid partnerships.

It is reported that Facebook has also added a new intellectual property dashboard, which lists information such as the status of brand-related IP and historical activities.

These new features will help brands better monitor the use of their product images and deal with unauthorized IP infringement. Together with Facebook’s copyright manager, brand copyright protection tools will detect IP infringement on a larger scale and protect the legitimate rights and interests of platform creators and copyright owners.

With the launch of a series of measures by Facebook, users will see less and less deceptive behavior, and counterfeit and shoddy products on the Facebook market will be severely cracked down. At the same time, the launch of these measures to protect platform users will further promote the development of e-commerce on the Facebook platform.
