What is Shopee Commission and Transaction Fee? Shopee Commission and Transaction Fee Review, Features

Shopee commission and transaction fees refer to the act of charging a certain fee for sales transactions conducted on Shopee.

In order to continue to provide better services to our sellers, the commission rate of the Shopee platform will be adjusted from July 16, 2019.

1. Shopee platform commission policy

2. Orders for which commissions are charged

(1) Transaction commissions are only charged for completed orders (the commission base does not include order shipping costs);

(2) If the order is cancelled, no transaction commission will be charged;

(3) The same seller will be exempt from transaction commissions on each site in the first three months on the platform.

Note: Shopee reserves the right of final interpretation and does not rule out adjustments to charging items and standards. The current version of the rate is applicable until the Shopee platform releases a new commission rate.

3. Calculation rules for the commission-free period for new sellers on the Shopee platform

Shopee provides a three-month commission-free period to new sellers who enter the platform for the first time. The commission-free period for new sellers on each site starts from the date the seller opens a store on the corresponding platform.

Example:

(1) Seller A opens a store on the Singapore site on July 1, so the store on the Singapore site will start to be charged commissions on October 1;

(2) If seller A opens a store in Malaysia on September 1, commissions will be charged for the store in Malaysia starting on December 1.

4. Transaction Fees

The Shopee platform began charging sellers a 2% transaction fee on January 1, 2019. This fee is actually a handling fee that needs to be paid to the transaction clearing service provider. Previously, this part of the fee has always been borne by Shopee.

Transaction fee standards:

(1) The handling fee is 2%;

(2) For completed orders (both cash on delivery and non-cash on delivery orders will be charged);

(3) Charge a handling fee based on the order amount (including shipping costs paid by the buyer);

(4) This handling fee is independent of the platform commission.
