Cdiscount France launches new B2B online platform Octopia!

It is reported that recently, Cdiscount, the largest e-commerce platform in France, announced the launch of a new B2B online platform Octopia , allowing sellers from Europe, the Middle East and Africa to settle in.

It is reported that Octopia has been informally put into use since January 2021. The new B2B online platform Octopia combines software platforms, dealer networks, product catalogs, distribution solutions and logistics functions to provide a platform for physical retailers and online merchants in Europe, the Middle East and Africa to set up stores. It is reported that the e-commerce market value of these three regions exceeds 600 billion euros.

In this regard, the head of Cdiscount said: "We already have millions of active customers in France, but there is still a large part of customers to win. In a completely open world, I believe that we must find customers wherever we are and sell more products, which increases both our market power and the sales potential of our suppliers and sellers, and therefore our profitability."

On this B2B platform, sellers can also offer products from other retailers and manufacturers, and Cdiscoun will then take care of transportation and logistics.

Sellers can build their own stores through the following functions provided by the Octopia platform , which provides sellers with complete systematic services through modular end-to-end solutions , business knowledge and technical understanding , access to product portfolios and manufacturers , distribution technology and warehouses .

It is reported that Cdiscount provides 540,000 square meters of warehouse space in France, uses robots to efficiently select and pack products, and ships to more than 30 countries and regions around the world . In addition, Cdiscount also cooperates with German logistics partners to provide warehouse locations in Germany, which greatly reduces transportation costs in Eastern European countries. Cdiscount 's logistics system is relatively complete, which is very attractive to sellers.

“My goal is that this new activity becomes as important as Cdiscount in four to five years, with 4.5 billion in business, and becomes our third most profitable pillar after marketplaces and digital marketing,” said Cdiscount’s CEO.
