Recently, the Wish platform issued a major adjustment announcement, stating that the revenue sharing ratio will be adjusted soon, and the announcement will take effect at 7 pm UTC time on July 19, 2021.
Wish's maximum commission rate is 25%
In the announcement, we can see that the part where Wish’s commission has been increased is the sex toy category . Among them, the commission for orders shipped directly from mainland China has been increased by 10% to 25%. For mainland China direct sellers of sex toy products, the profits will be greatly reduced, which is like a blow to the head, making people feel under great pressure!
In addition, the commission for orders shipped directly from mainland China to EU countries (all categories except household goods and sex toys) has been increased by 7% to 22%. Some sellers said that this means that taxes will also be collected for orders below 22 euros, about 20%? Then Wish will increase the commission to 22%. Where can it get such a high profit? Even if it adds 1 US dollar, including refunds, the profit is low due to fewer orders. Is it here to harvest us?
As the saying goes, some are happy while others are sad. In addition to the commission increase, there are also commissions that remain unchanged and commissions that are reduced. According to the announcement, the commission for orders shipped directly from mainland China to the world (except EU countries) and for orders shipped and received within EU countries (all categories except household daily necessities and sex toys) remains unchanged at 15%.
Regarding the reduction in commissions, Wish Express orders for all categories in the United States and Canada decreased by 5% to 10% ; Wish Express orders for all categories in other countries (except the United States and Canada) had the largest adjustment, a decrease of 10% to 5% ; orders for household daily necessities shipped directly from mainland China decreased by 5% to 10% .
Is Wish 's commission adjustment a blessing or a curse ?
In general, this adjustment by Wish has both advantages and disadvantages. For current Wish sellers, this adjustment reduces the price competitiveness of products shipped directly from mainland China, which is beneficial to Wish Express sellers and household goods sellers, but for sex toy sellers, it is stressful, after all, the 10% increase is no joke.
Some sellers on the European site asked, " Are you going to raise the price together? We have no orders, how dare you raise the price?" Some sellers sent in battle reports, saying that they increased prices, had fewer orders, but their overall sales increased. But some sellers said that their orders dropped by half, and so did their sales. Whether Wish's commission adjustment is a blessing or a curse, I'm afraid only the sellers themselves know.
For sellers, every major adjustment of the platform is undoubtedly a reshuffle. Whether it is a danger or an opportunity depends on the sellers' adjustments to their business categories and the strategies they develop for the market. Wish Order commission |
