Just now, there are new changes in the storage capacity of Amazon FBA sellers during the peak season

As the peak shopping season in the second half of the year draws closer, sellers are gearing up and getting ready.

However, Amazon recently issued an announcement stating that it will adjust the storage capacity limits for FBA sellers during the peak season.

According to the announcement, as the holiday season approaches, we are increasing our storage capacity and operations to efficiently receive sellers' holiday inventory and ensure a pleasant delivery experience for customers.

"As previously announced, we recommend that sellers plan ahead to ensure shipments arrive before October 26, 2023 so that we can prepare for delivery in time for Black Friday."

"As is customary every September and October, our distribution centre teams will be focusing on the receiving process to ensure your products are placed in the correct distribution centre."

In November and December, Amazon will focus on processing customer orders. This shift from receiving shipments to fulfilling customer orders will ensure faster delivery and maximize sellers' sales potential during the holiday season.

Based on Amazon's management model, most sellers will find more inventory in October and less in November. On average, the inventory in November is expected to provide sellers with sales inventory for the next six months.

In addition, if sellers need additional capacity, they can request additional storage capacity through Capacity Manager. To ensure that there is stock to sell, sellers can also choose to use Amazon's warehousing and delivery services, and the platform will automatically replenish inventory for sellers as needed.

However, some sellers do not seem to buy into this. Some sellers left a message below the announcement saying that in terms of efficiency and accuracy (not to mention the poor state of seller support), the current situation is worse than in late summer/early fall last year, and even worse than last year's shopping season.

Of course, some sellers also recognized Amazon’s plan and left a message: “Thank you Amazon for providing more advance communication and background information on their implementation plan this year.”

It can be seen that Amazon’s plan this year is to let sellers prepare the goods in October, so that Amazon can focus its main energy on delivering goods to consumers later.
