The cross-border service provider emptied the company overnight and the employees called the police!

A few days ago, an employee of a cross-border service company in Shenzhen told me that their company emptied out its office overnight and owed employees two months' salary. As they could not contact the boss and the person in charge of finance, many employees have called the police.

Shenzhen cross-border service providers vacated their offices overnight

Wang Haoran works for a cross-border service company in Futian District, Shenzhen. The company is a payment tool agent. On the Friday before the incident, Wang Haoran and his colleagues worked normally as usual, but on the next Monday, they suddenly found that more than a dozen people did not come to work.

"We were wondering why so many people were late all of a sudden. The atmosphere in the company was not right. After an hour or two, the boss called everyone to the office for a meeting. He said the company had been losing money and couldn't continue. He asked us to hand over the clients. The wages for June and July would be paid to us before noon on Tuesday."

In a recording provided by Wang Haoran, the company's general manager Liu ** said: "I am in great pain, but we can only withdraw if we can't hold on any longer. (Everyone) will go through the formalities and hand over the work. After the handover, the finance department will work overtime tonight to calculate the wages, and the wages will be paid tomorrow at the latest." At the same time, he said that he would pay the corresponding commission. "This is my style of doing things. Although I have withdrawn, I don't want to let anyone down. I will pay everyone what they deserve."

During the conversation, Liu ** and others repeatedly urged the employees to complete the formalities: "How can we settle your accounts if you don't complete the formalities?" Fearing that the company would run away, the employees completed the handover of all customers, but insisted on completing the resignation formalities after the salary was received. Both parties agreed to go to the company at 9:30 the next morning to settle the salary.

"We know that the company may really be out of money, and we don't have any other compensation requirements. We just need to get the salary we deserve," said Wang Haoran.

That night, an employee who lived nearby noticed that the company seemed to be clearing out items. On Tuesday morning, dozens of employees came to the company as agreed, but found that the company had been emptied and they were unable to contact the boss Liu ** and the financial staff.

After consultation, everyone decided to call the police. The police contacted Liu **, but he still did not answer the phone. In the afternoon, they finally got news from Liu**, who said, "We moved things until 7 or 8 in the morning last night, and we just woke up now. The salary issue will be settled as soon as possible in the next two days."

The employees were naturally not convinced by this argument. "We've already declared our personal income tax, but we haven't calculated it yet?" "We've already moved everything out, is this the way to calculate wages?" But the company did not give any specific explanation.

Later they learned that the company had more than 40 employees, more than a dozen of whom had been transferred by Liu ** to another company in Longhua to continue working and manage the previously accumulated customers, while the other 30-plus people were abandoned.

Employees are owed more than 600,000 yuan in wages, and if they want it, they have to pay a huge price

According to statistics from Wang Haoran and his colleagues, the total amount of wages owed to more than 30 people is about 600,000 yuan. This is not a small number and of course it must be recovered.

On Wednesday, more than a dozen employees came to Liu **'s company in Longhua. The name of the vacated company was posted on the background wall of the front desk of the company, but now the company name has been scratched off, leaving only the incomplete "Shenzhen... Network Technology Co., Ltd." with a blank space in the middle.

Here they met Liu **. Liu negotiated with several supervisors: the June salary would be calculated based on the lowest level regardless of how many customers were developed; the July salary would be directly calculated based on the commission and the base salary would be halved.

"I'm sure everyone disagrees. Some people's base salary plus commission in July was nearly 20,000 yuan, but according to what he said, they could only be paid more than 2,000 yuan, and more than 10,000 yuan was directly deducted. Many employees said they didn't want the base salary, just the commission, but the boss disagreed.

Many people stayed up with the boss's finance department until 12 o'clock in the evening. In order to get back part of their salary first, those present signed the "Declaration of Property Handover of Resigned Personnel" as required by him, and only then did they receive their June salary, but the commission was calculated after deducting the lowest amount. Those who were not present did not receive any salary. "Wang Haoran said, "The salary for July will not be paid until August 10, but whether it will be paid by then is another matter."

At present, employees who have received their June salary still hope to get back other commissions due in June and full salary for July, but when they went again they failed to meet Liu**, and the other party also ignored their request for an interview.

In addition to these employees, other employees who have not received their wages have gone through labor arbitration. As far as they know, the company still has 670,000 yuan in its account, which is enough to pay all the employees' wages. Therefore, they applied to the court for property preservation, hoping to freeze the account to prevent the funds from being transferred.

But two days later, Wang Haoran told the editor that Liu ** had already transferred the property. "Now the boss's attitude is that you can't get your salary from me, or you can go to labor arbitration."

The general manager of the company concerned responded: We are actively handling

The editor contacted the general manager of the company, Liu **, about this matter, and the latter explained several points such as "emptying the company" and "wage arrears".

He said the company was no longer operating because it could no longer sustain its capital chain. " We are actively handling the situation. Most employees have already received their salaries. A small number of employees have not yet signed their resignation papers. We will pay them all by August 10. After negotiation between the two parties, we will pay them according to the agreed salary. "

When asked whether the employees knew the company was moving, he said: "We moved to Longhua, and they all knew the address. They came and saw us moving. We already have two sites, so they all knew about it."

Wang Haoran disagrees with this statement. "He didn't give any notice that he was moving the company. A colleague noticed it in the evening, but he couldn't stop it alone. Liu said he would leave a few sofas so that everyone would have a place to sit when they went to settle their wages tomorrow. But the next day, all the sofas were moved out. We contacted the property management, but it turned out that they didn't know anything about it."

Regarding the whereabouts of the public account funds, Liu ** said that the funds had not been taken away and had always been in the public account. "I don't know the specific amount, the finance department doesn't have it in my hands. If the money in the public account was transferred, where would the money be for salary payment? Most people's salaries have been paid in June, and the July salary will be paid on the 10th."

According to Qichacha information, the company in question, Shenzhen **Fu, was established on March 8, 2023 with a registered capital of 1 million yuan. It is a start-up company that mainly engages in the collection and settlement of foreign exchange for B2B cross-border enterprises. The company is currently in existence.

On the recruitment platform, the company claims to be a professional platform brand serving Chinese cross-border sellers, providing Chinese cross-border sellers with low-cost cross-border payment and other personalized financial derivative services.

As of press time, this company is still posting job openings for cross-border sales specialists with a combined salary of 13K-18K, and the people in charge of recruitment are very active.

Since the beginning of this year, there have been constant news of bankruptcies in the cross-border industry: some cross-border e-commerce companies went bankrupt due to poor management and their employees demanded their wages; a large number of trademarks became invalid collectively, and the brands that sellers invested heavily in became white-label overnight; some logistics companies were found to have violated regulations or had broken capital chains, and customers' goods were detained ... The seller group is in a panic, taking one step forward and one step back on the road to going overseas, not knowing which link will suddenly spark a spark.

In the entire cross-border chain, payment collection is the key link in the process of collecting funds. If a mistake is made, it will cause a huge blow to the seller . For the employees who were forced to resign, the ** rich incident meant the loss of one or two months' salary. Once similar incidents involve cross-border companies, it will be an irreparable pain for the latter.
