Data from Research and Markets predicts that the global smart home market revenue will reach US$79.17 billion in 2022 , and between 2022 and 2030 , the revenue of this market will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 27 %, and the market size is expected to reach US$537.01 billion by 2030 .

OFFO 's home furnishing brands such as "OFFO" and "SCITOOLS" also sold well during last year's Black Friday , with sales increasing by 176% year-on-year, among which corporate purchase and sales volume increased by more than 400% year-on-year.

 

Govee achieved a breakthrough in sales during Black Friday and Cyber ​​Monday in 2022 , with brand sales increasing by 117% in the United States and 56% in Germany compared to last year, and brand awareness also increased.

 

Not only was it a hot seller on Black Friday, data shows that in recent years, Govee's market share on the Amazon platform has continued to increase, with a compound growth rate of more than 300% for three consecutive years, and it once entered the Top 50 best-selling list.   Web data also shows that Govee strip lights have a market share of up to 80% on Amazon .

 

The popularity of the smart home industry is obvious to all, and even Amazon has started to deploy in this field early on .

 

In 2014, it launched the Echo smart speaker and it has been on the bestseller list many times ; in 2018, it launched a series of smart home hardware products including the voice microwave oven and the home robot Astro; in 2022, it spent US$1.7 billion to acquire iRobot, the leading company in sweeping robots.


The hot track has attracted many players. World-renowned technology companies such as Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi, and Baidu have all entered the smart home industry. As early as 2014, Apple released the smart home platform HomeKit, allowing users to control indoor lighting, temperature, humidity, etc. through devices such as iPhone, iPad, and HomePod. After successfully listing a few years ago, EZVIZ's overseas revenue share has increased year by year

 

On December 28 , 2022 , smart home company EZVIZ Network was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange Science and Technology Innovation Board, with a market value of 14.2 billion yuan on the first day of listing.

 

Founded in 2013, EZVIZ 's prospectus shows that its main business revenue was 2.35 billion yuan, 3.07 billion yuan and 4.2 billion yuan in 2019-2021 respectively ; its revenue in the first three quarters of 2022 was 3.14 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.92%.

 

The prospectus shows that EZVIZ is currently actively developing overseas business, has established a number of overseas subsidiaries and is conducting local sales.

 

Since 2019, the proportion of its overseas revenue has continued to increase. As of 2021, its overseas revenue was 280 million yuan, 520 million yuan, and 900 million yuan, respectively, accounting for 12.04%, 16.93%, and 21.41% of its main business revenue in the current period. In the first half of this year alone, its overseas revenue reached 520 million yuan, accounting for 24.96% of its total revenue .

 

 

Using smart security products such as smart home cameras, smart peepholes, and smart doorbells, EZVIZ is actively expanding its overseas channels including retail, e-commerce, and telecom operators, with Amazon being its key overseas sales platform.

 

It is understood that in 2020, the EZVIZ brand under EZVIZ Networks entered the top ten list of Amazon's smart security products. In addition, D-Link under D-Link and Eufy under Anker Innovations are also on the list .

 

As the revenue scale of overseas markets continues to increase, in order to expand the breadth of its products, in the future, EZVIZ will also develop innovative categories such as smart door locks, smart controls and smart service robots, and continuously improve its global distribution network.

 

It received tens of millions of yuan in financing ten months after its establishment, and Lenovo bosses are also optimistic about the development of the track

 

Not long ago, the overseas smart home brand Cozyla received a first round of financing of 40 million yuan.

 

Speaking of Cozyla , sellers may not be particularly familiar with it, because this brand was only established at the end of March 2021, less than 10 months ago. In addition, its financing is only 40 million, which is not a large amount.

 

But it is worth mentioning that the founder of Cozyla is Yao Li , who was Lenovo's global vice president and general manager of the Intelligent Connected Devices Division . He has been at Lenovo for more than 20 years . Yao Li has led many businesses that have achieved a scale of tens of billions. The most classic one is that he led Lenovo's consumer computers to enter the United States in the early 21st century and its tablet business grew from its inception to tens of billions. In addition, Cozyla 's CTO Yin Ruiping has served as the head of R&D at Hisense, AOC, Lenovo , etc. , and has more than 20 years of experience in the development and management of consumer electronics and smart hardware. The rest of the core team members also come from Lenovo's Intelligent Connected Devices Division .

 

The mature team , deep supply chain and sales channel resources , and more than 20 years of in-depth knowledge and experience in the US consumer market have given investors confidence . There are even reports that leading securities firms are already in contact with Cozyla to prepare for its listing.

 

In 2022, overseas brands in this category have repeatedly received tens of millions of yuan in financing.

 

In January , Zhiling, an overseas smart home brand whose products are concentrated in the field of smart security, received a Pre-A round of financing of 50 million yuan . Its AOSU and DEKCO brands mainly target the North American market , and e-commerce is the main sales channel.

 

In May, the smart home overseas brand Jika Technology received tens of millions of dollars in Series A financing led by NBT Capital and followed by Challenger Capital.

 

In October, Moorebot, an overseas smart home robot brand founded in 2019 , established overseas retail channels on multiple platforms such as Amazon , Walmart, Bestbuy, Home Depot, and Target, and received tens of millions of yuan in financing.

 

It can be seen that Chinese smart home brands are increasingly recognized by the market, and capital is also optimistic about their development. In the field of smart home, there are many sub-tracks, and smart cleaning, smart security, smart lighting, etc. are flourishing and becoming hot products in the market.
