Amazon recommends turning on "holiday mode" during the holidays, sellers: forget it

Before every holiday season, Amazon sellers debate whether to switch their stores to “holiday mode” before the holidays.

This concern may be because the seller is busy and unable to operate the store, or it may be because the seller is worried that impatient consumers will leave bad reviews for the store because they did not receive the gifts in time.

In fact, except for holidays, sellers may need to temporarily close their stores at any time of the year, such as when there is an emergency at home or they have health problems.

At such times, platforms such as Amazon and eBay allow sellers to temporarily set their stores to "vacation mode," also known as vacation mode, in which the store will no longer receive orders. However, using this feature may cause some potential consequences.

“Vacation mode is totally for fools,” one Amazon seller said in response to another seller who was concerned that returning from vacation mode could negatively impact their store’s rankings.

The seller added: "If you really have an urgent matter, don't choose to turn on the holiday mode. Sellers can choose to extend their processing and delivery time . This will give you enough time and will not affect the store's ranking. "

According to the seller, turning on the holiday mode will not only affect the store's ranking on the Amazon platform, but also the search results on Google will decline accordingly, which is too much of a blow to small sellers.

The discussion was sparked by a recent statement from Amazon, which wrote:

If you want to take a break during the holidays, please set your account to vacation mode to avoid forgetting to process orders and affecting your account rating.

This setting temporarily removes your products from Amazon product detail pages and search results.

Amazon did not give a specific explanation on whether using this feature would affect the subsequent ranking of the store. From the current situation, it is recommended that sellers do not use the "holiday mode" feature lightly. If there is an emergency, they can find someone to operate it on their behalf or modify the delivery time of the order.
