The adverse effects of the epidemic have also led to an explosion in the online economy. Recent cross-border e-commerce export data is encouraging.
In April, the data on China-Europe and western land and sea rail transport were encouraging, with western land and sea rail transport increasing by 19.6% year-on-year; at the same time, Shenzhen, a gathering place for long-established cross-border e-commerce companies, saw a 5.1% increase in general trade imports and exports in the first quarter; affected by the RCEP agreement, Hainan imported and exported 11.71 billion yuan in the first quarter through bonded logistics.
Exports increased by 19.6%! The national railway freight shipment volume in April hit a record high in a single month
In order to strengthen economic exchanges between China, Europe, the Western Land and Sea and other countries, "Revisiting the Silk Road" was officially raised to a new level in 2013. At the same time, it also benefited from the government's foresight. It was this "Silk Road" that still set sail against the trend under the impact of the epidemic.
The China-Europe Express, the Western Land-Sea Corridor Express, and the China-Laos Railway international train transport organization are important components of this Silk Road. Data show that in April, the Western Land-Sea Corridor Express shipped 63,000 standard containers, a year-on-year increase of 19.6%, and the China-Laos Railway shipped 132,000 tons of import and export goods, a month-on-month increase of 10%.
Under the influence of the epidemic, inland cross-border e-commerce and related departments have strictly implemented various epidemic prevention policies to minimize the risk of the epidemic being imported through railway ports, and also provided sufficient guarantees for the development of cross-border e-commerce between China and Europe and the western land and sea.
Shenzhen's total import and export volume in the first quarter was 740.48 billion yuan
International railway transportation in April got off to a good start for the development of inland cross-border e-commerce. However, Shenzhen, an old city that cannot be ignored in cross-border e-commerce, was able to achieve steady success despite the raging epidemic in the first quarter of this year.
In the first quarter, Shenzhen 's total import and export volume was 740.48 billion yuan, down 2.8% year-on-year. Among them, exports were 407.66 billion yuan, down 2.6% , and imports were 332.82 billion yuan, down 3.1%. Among them, general trade imports and exports increased by 5.1%, accounting for 53.4% of the total import and export volume, an increase of 4.1 percentage points over the same period last year.
Although the total import and export volume showed a downward trend year-on-year, general trade did increase slightly compared with the same period last year. This also reflects Shenzhen's confidence and adaptability as a long-established trading port.
Favorable policies affect Hainan's cross-border e-commerce exports
As a pioneer in cross-border e-commerce exports, Shenzhen’s strength cannot be underestimated, but some cities that benefit from favorable policies have also made significant contributions to cross-border e-commerce, such as Hainan, a city affected by the RCEP policy.
The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), an agreement initiated by ASEAN and formulated over eight years by 15 members including China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and the ten ASEAN countries, officially came into effect in January 2022. Hainan seized the opportunity to promote development.
The implementation of this favorable policy in Hainan has enabled this southernmost provincial administrative region in my country to gain an increasingly important position in cross-border e-commerce.
In the first quarter, Hainan's trade with RCEP member countries accounted for more than 30%, with imports and exports to RCEP member countries reaching 14.09 billion yuan, up 45.8%. Thanks to the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port, Hainan's bonded logistics trade maintained rapid growth. In the first quarter, imports and exports in the form of bonded logistics reached 11.71 billion yuan, up 47.3%.
Among them, Yangpu Economic Development Zone has always been the pilot zone and demonstration zone of Hainan Free Trade Port. Up to now, it has opened more than 30 domestic and foreign trade routes , and initially formed a route network with domestic and foreign trade trunk and branch lines supporting each other. In the first quarter, Danzhou City, where Yangpu Economic Development Zone is located, imported and exported 18.52 billion yuan, and the total value of foreign trade ranked first among all cities and counties in Hainan.
Although the epidemic has affected international routes and exchanges between countries, there is still much room for cross-border e-commerce people to seek development in difficult situations and find opportunities in adverse conditions.
The impact of the epidemic on cross-border e-commerce has become an indisputable fact. There are many people who are pessimistic about cross-border e-commerce, but more people need to rely on their own abilities, environmental opportunities and favorable policies to remain calm and win every battle in this silent battle. logistics Cross-border e-commerce peak season |
