Amazon: Sellers can file appeals due to impact of epidemic on account performance

On March 16, local time , Amazon issued an announcement specifically for sellers in China, stating that with the surge in new coronavirus cases and the corresponding restrictions imposed by local authorities, the platform is taking comprehensive measures to mitigate any negative impact of the resulting breaches on sellers' performance indicators and the health of their accounts .

Amazon said that if sellers are concerned about the impact of the epidemic and restrictions on the delayed shipment rate, cancellation rate, or order defect rate indicators of their seller accounts, sellers can appeal any policy violations that they believe are beyond their control and provide all relevant information in the appeal so that the platform can understand the connection between the epidemic-related restrictions and the violations that the seller is appealing.

At the same time, the platform also recommends that if sellers have a large number of orders and cannot ship them in time, Amazon encourages sellers to set their account status to "vacation mode" and restore the account activity status once the seller is able to complete the orders and meet customer expectations.

It is understood that the Shenzhen Cross-border E-Commerce Association surveyed approximately 2,800 sellers using e-commerce platforms such as Amazon. The survey results showed that these sellers were all affected to varying degrees by supply chain disruptions due to the epidemic .

The association said cross-border platforms such as Amazon will suffer some short-term impact as goods may not be delivered on time .

Manufacturers in the region said factory shutdowns had also led to delivery delays, while logistical difficulties made it a challenge to ship goods to overseas customers .

If any seller is unable to ship goods in a timely manner due to the epidemic, he should pay attention to account performance issues in a timely manner and file a complaint or suspend sales in a timely manner according to the relevant policies of the platform to avoid affecting the account status.

Although Amazon and other platforms are currently in the off-season, the announcement of the Member Day event has been released. Due to the special international situation this year, many sellers have begun to prepare for the Member Day product inventory in advance. The sudden outbreak of the epidemic has disrupted the plans of many sellers and brought new challenges to all cross-border sellers!
