2022 Home Decoration Trend Forecast: Blue-green will be the dominant color

2022 Home Decoration Trend Forecast: Blue-green will be the dominant color

2021 is about to end. Looking back on this year, home furnishing and home decoration products have been loved by many consumers. In particular, the repeated epidemics have made people spend more time at home and have aroused their interest in home decoration, which has further boosted the sales of such products.

In recent days, several companies, including Zillow , Yelp , Wayfair Professional and 1stDibs , have released their year-end reports, which include predictions for home products in 2022 based on the most popular home trends in 2021, consumer statistics, expert opinions and market data.

Blue and green will dominate in 2022

It is worth noting that almost all reports mentioned similar color trends, indicating that blue and green will dominate in 2022.

Wayfair Professional predicts "avocado green" while 1stDibs proposes more specific color trends such as "dark green, such as emerald; light shades, such as sage", and emphasizes that emerald is the first choice of designers, with 24% of the votes. The report also mentions the influence of paint brands on color trends, because several paint brands have chosen green as their annual color.

Rattan and sugar cane homewares will also remain popular in the coming year.

Yelp, a well-known American business review website, explained in the report that sugarcane is a natural and timeless material that has many incredible functions and is a great way to warm up a space. The 1stDibs report mentioned that sugarcane was labeled "fashionable" on Instagram and said that designers are delivering trends that have become popular through social media in recent years.

The trend towards sustainable development will continue to be popular

1stDibs shared in the report that 97% of designers said that sustainable materials and plants will become a trend in 2022. Zillow said that products with keywords such as "ecological" and "energy-saving" sold more than two days faster than expected.

Pop-up workspaces will become popular

This means that any place in the house can become an office. Due to the impact of the epidemic, many people still work from home for a long time. Zillow 's report mentioned that 75% of people are considering home renovations next year, and some homeowners are considering converting a part of the house into a home office.

Comfort is key

All reports mentioned the importance of "comfort" in 2022. Both Wayfair Professional and Zillow 's reports indicate that curved sofas and chairs will become more popular in 2022.   One of the trends in home design that has been gaining popularity in recent years is hygge , a Danish concept of " finding comfort " and " living in a cozy atmosphere ," and it's not expected to disappear anytime soon.

Popular trends are usually the "secret weapon" that turns on sales . As more people pursue popular trends, more people will buy them. Therefore, sellers in related fields can plan their product selection for the coming year based on the above predictions, ride on the trend, and lay a solid foundation for increasing sales.
