A batch of accounts were suspended for no reason, and 15-year-old sellers will exit the market

Account suspension is not a trivial matter. It can affect sellers’ sales in just a few hours. However, sometimes it can be a case of “accidental killing”, which makes sellers complain. Recently, eBay mistakenly suspended a number of sellers’ accounts due to platform issues, which caused a lot of complaints.

As with platforms such as Amazon and Walmart, most accounts are suspended for good reasons, usually involving some problematic activities such as deceptive pricing, intellectual property infringement, or violations of the platform's sales regulations. These problems lead to the suspension and the seller has no say.

It is reported that almost every week, eBay sellers post cases of accounts being suspended for no reason on social media. But last Friday, many sellers' accounts were suspended by mistake, and one seller also shared his "dramatic" experience.

The seller had been selling on eBay for fifteen years and had good sales. Suddenly, he received an email from the platform informing him that his account was permanently suspended without any explanation. When he asked questions, he only received an automatic reply. But the next day, he received another email saying " We are pleased to inform you that your account has been restored. " The seller was speechless. Coupled with the high fees of the eBay platform, the seller said he would withdraw from the eBay market. Many sellers have complained about this.

But eBay only made a lukewarm apology, which disappointed sellers. The platform said, " Earlier today, some eBay accounts were suspended for no reason. The problem will be resolved within a few hours. We will contact any sellers who need to take action. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to sellers."

As is often the case with eBay sellers , the company did n’t offer much in the way of explanation , and some sellers said they didn’t offer to compensate them for lost sales or lost time.

The platform's mistake caused damage to the interests of sellers, but eBay did not give a sincere apology, which really disheartened many sellers.
