eBay announced that from January 1, 2022 , international fees will increase for sellers with a registered address in the UK if the delivery address (entered by the buyer at checkout) is in the Eurozone and Northern Europe .
The Eurozone includes Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain. The Nordic countries include Denmark, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
This change will take effect for all sales from this date, regardless of when the item was listed, relisted, or renewed. This will continue to apply regardless of whether you handle international postage yourself or through the Global Shipping Program (GSP).
For business sellers, Eurozone and Nordic international fees will increase from 0.5% to 1.05%, excluding VAT; for non-business sellers (private sellers), their related fees will increase from 0.6% to 1.26%, including 20% VAT.
Some sellers also currently pay fees for shipping to other countries, like 1.8% for shipping to the U.S. and Canada and 2% for shipping to all other countries, and these fees do not appear to be changing.
The announcement also stressed that if sellers want to continue selling products to the Eurozone and Nordic countries, they do not need to make any changes to their preferences to continue selling to these regions.
However, sellers can also update their preferences to reduce the chances of international buyers purchasing from them. Sellers can go to the "Set Buyer Requests" section, click "Set Buyer Requests", and then go to "Manage Postage Settings" to edit the countries or regions that they do not ship to.
In addition, if the seller wants to use GSP but exclude the Eurozone and Nordic countries, they can update their "Excluded Shipping Locations" to select the countries or regions they do not want to ship to. It is important to make sure to select the "Also apply to the current listing" option and uncheck the "Override postage exclusions for my Global Shipping Program eligible products" option, and then save your preferences. eBay Fee increase |
