Royal Mail website crashes, hundreds of orders cannot be processed

As one of the largest transport companies in the UK, there are many retailers who use Royal Mail for express delivery. Once the express delivery service system is paralyzed, it will have a great impact on the business activities of these retailers.

Just around 9am yesterday, the Click & Drop website of the Royal Mail service crashed, and people were unable to send parcels through the Click & Drop website.

Click & Drop is a service commonly used by UK operators when selling goods on eBay, Amazon and Etsy , which allows users to track orders, provide delivery services to customers , choose to print labels and receive logistics updates .

Frustrated Royal Mail customers took to social media to complain following the disruption , with some saying they had hundreds of orders stuck in limbo .

Classic Car LED, a small business based in Bristol , said on Twitter that they had over 200 orders pending and had been sitting idle for four hours because of the Royal Mail website crash .

Settle Down Books, an online bookstore, said : " We can't print any orders on Monday morning ! Not sure how long this will take , and now half of our orders are stuck in the system, it 's a mess ! "

As Royal Mail has a large customer base, the collapse of the Click & Drop service has had a significant impact on British operators, as they have a large number of orders to be processed and have no other choice except Royal Mail .

After receiving user feedback, Royal Mail said in a statement that it has stepped up inspections and repairs , and access to the website has now been restored. However, some customers still said that the system cannot "display" their items, and the " Shipping Rules -Automatically Apply Postage to Different Orders " function is also disabled .

A Royal Mail spokesperson said: "Royal Mail are aware of a technical fault with our Click & Drop system. Whilst the system is now operating normally , there may still be intermittent disruptions due to the large number of customers accessing the service at the same time . We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause our customers. We are working hard to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. "
