Amazon opens three new delivery stations in New Jersey to accelerate the layout of the "last mile of logistics"

As an important part of the consumer shopping experience , logistics services have always been the focus of Amazon's development . Affected by the epidemic, a series of distribution problems caused by labor shortages and insufficient storage space are plaguing Amazon. To solve these problems, Amazon decided to expand its warehouse area and improve its logistics and distribution system.

Recently , Amazon announced the opening of three new delivery stations in New Jersey, one in Edison, one in Lawrence, and one in Carlstadt. The Carlstadt delivery station is the largest of the three , covering an area of 464,000 square feet, the Lawrence delivery station covers an area of 340,000 square feet, and the Edison delivery station covers an area of 280,000 square feet.

These new delivery stations will help improve consumers' shopping experience and help Amazon accelerate the layout of the "last mile of logistics." Express deliveries for New Jersey consumers can be transported from nearby Amazon distribution and sorting centers to these new delivery stations and reach consumers in a shorter time .

The three sites will work with 11 delivery service partners, which will provide entrepreneurs with the opportunity to build their own Amazon package delivery business and independent contractors with the flexibility to choose their own delivery times.

Amazon said it has invested more than $14.5 billion in New Jersey and provided more than 49,000 jobs for the people of New Jersey. The three new delivery stations will require hundreds of logistics drivers , which will provide new full-time and part-time jobs for the people of New Jersey and pay them at least $15 per hour.

“We’re excited to continue investing in new delivery stations in New Jersey, providing efficient delivery services to our customers while creating hundreds of jobs for a talented workforce,” Amazon spokesperson Emily Hawkins said in a media statement.

These new delivery stations also demonstrate Amazon's determination to lay out the "last mile of logistics" and improve the logistics and distribution system. Only by continuously providing consumers with high-quality services can we achieve long-term development .
