Foreign media: SHEIN is accused of deliberate trademark infringement and faces lawsuits from multiple independent station brands

On June 15, according to foreign media reports, several independent brands accused SHEIN of deliberate trademark infringement , and the Chinese fast fashion giant SHEIN is currently facing legal proceedings.

It is reported that the initiator of the latest accusation is Dr. Martens , the originator of Martin boots . The company sued SHEIN for products with the words "Marin Boots" on its website , and believed that SHEIN not only directly imitated its products, but also used authentic photos of "Dr Martens shoes" to lure consumers to its website to buy counterfeit shoes . Therefore, it was accused of "having obvious intentions to sell counterfeit goods ."

SHEIN subsequently denied the allegations , but this is only the latest in a series of lawsuits. Previously, the Financial Times also reported that in early June of this year , independent earring brand Kikay discovered that its designs were being sold on SHEIN . Kikay co-founder Quinn Jones then posted on the social networking site Instagram : SHEIN’s plagiarism problem is well known to everyone.

The post received thousands of comments, many of which were complaints from independent fashion brands .

Jones also told the Financial Times : This situation has happened repeatedly, SHEIN should investigate these cases due diligence and be responsible for them. If they do not make changes, they will continue to squeeze the development space of small independent brands.

Currently, SHEIN is the most visited fashion website in the world and the most downloaded shopping app in the United States. The company uses advanced data analysis to obtain the latest fashion trends , then quickly completes product design, and then completes the supply chain production links in China, and finally sells them in the international market at extremely low cost .

This production and operation model allows SHEIN to design and produce large quantities of products in just a few days and crush other fast fashion competitors on price .

In response to these accusations, SHEIN also said: We will take every complaint of intellectual property infringement seriously , conduct in-depth investigations into such complaints , and take prompt action against suppliers who violate our intellectual property policies ; in addition, we will increase investment, optimize the product review process , and promptly detect and prevent infringements .
