Fast fashion online platform shein has made significant inroads into the US fashion industry, with its market share growing steadily.
Last year, shein was downloaded 200 million times, surpassing Amazon and becoming the most downloaded app in Apple and Google stores. The platform's annual revenue reached $30 billion and its annual users reached 13.7 million.
According to the shopping app rankings updated monthly by PYMNTS, shein ranked first with a total score of 94 points, while Amazon and Walmart tied for second with a total score of 93 points. Shein's "temptation" for American consumers comes from affordable prices, free delivery services, regular discounts and flexible return and refund policies.
Compared with large fashion brands such as H&M, Zara or Uniqlo , Shein's products are priced lower, with the average price of products ranging from only US$20 to US$30.

According to the Consumer Price Index of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, clothing prices in the United States rose by 3.1% last year. Professionals believe that the rise in clothing and shoe prices is putting pressure on American consumers, who are looking for cheaper products as alternatives.
Under this circumstance, shein has entered the sight of American consumers. Its entry into the United States at the right time is also appropriate - when the inflation rate in this country is high, the inflation rate of clothing in the United States reached 5.03% last year and dropped to 3.17% this year.
In addition to its price advantage, shein's cutting-edge clothing styles have also captured millions of consumers. Its product launch speed exceeds that of traditional brands in the United States. Data collected by Rest of World shows that between July and December 2021, the number of new SKUs added to the application per day ranged from 2,000 to 10,000.
