ShareSave is a new cross-border e-commerce platform launched by Xiaomi in January 2019. ShareSave aims to provide consumers outside mainland China with a convenient and affordable channel to purchase Xiaomi ecological chain products that were originally only sold in mainland China. ShareSave is now available in India and plans to expand to other markets in the future.

About ShareSave

ShareSave supports many of Xiaomi's products, such as its water bottles, toothbrushes, desk lamps, smart bulbs, etc. Xiaomi's goal is to expand the sales scope of its ecosystem products so that overseas users can also buy ecosystem devices and products that are only sold in China.

Xiaomi firmly believes in the power of community culture and Mi fans, and the social part of ShareSave will be a perfect embodiment of this power. ShareSave provides a good platform for Mi fans to communicate, enjoy and share product experiences. ShareSave will also help Xiaomi understand the consumption needs of local users in different international markets for Xiaomi ecological chain products.

According to Xiaomi's official introduction, with its unique ecosystem model, Xiaomi has currently incubated and cooperated with more than 100 IoT and lifestyle companies. With more than 132 million connected devices (excluding smartphones and laptops), Xiaomi has the world's largest consumer IoT platform.

Currently, the products on ShareSave include Mi x Wiha Precision screwdrivers, Yeelight LED bulbs (color), Soocas Sonic electric toothbrush X1 Lite, etc. In the future, ShareSave will provide mobile peripherals, smart hardware, lifestyle products and other products. Xiaomi hopes to promote ShareSave to other markets in the future.

Shopping Mode

In order to increase user engagement, Xiaomi provides consumers with three purchasing modes: Pari-Up, Drop and Kickstart.

1. Pair-Up: The Pair-Up model is very similar to Pinduoduo. In fact, Pinduoduo's business model has been fully tested in the Chinese market and is also a successful model that has withstood the test of the market. This social-based e-commerce model allows buyers to share products with their friends or contacts in their address book. As long as he/she can convince his/her friends to buy the specified product on the same application and successfully match with the required number of buyers, both parties can win very large discounts.

2. Drop: In this service, customers can select products from a product selection list and share them with their friends. As long as friends join the purchase, the price of the product will drop until it reaches the target price accepted by the customer. In this model, consumers may even get the product for free or buy it at a 50% discount.

3. Kickstart: This model is somewhat similar to crowdfunding. In this model, after a buyer takes a fancy to a product, he or she first needs to pay a small initial payment (minimum US$0.2). As more and more people are willing to pay this small initial payment, and sufficient funds make the price of the product match the contribution of other users, each consumer who pays a small initial payment can receive a reward in the form of a shopping voucher, the value of which is 10 times the amount they initially paid.

Note: In addition to the above modes, consumers can also choose to purchase directly at the regular product price.
