The overseas epidemic has caused factories to shut down, especially large items like furniture, with a serious lack of production capacity. During this year's 6.18 , domestic residential furniture sold overseas through Taobao and Tmall increased by 60% year-on-year, among which creative domestic designer brands became popular overseas, with overseas sales increasing by two times.

Rudai is a new domestic designer furniture brand. Its minimalist light luxury design and avant-garde colors are particularly in line with the current popular modern decoration style, and it has attracted countless attention on social media. During the 618 period, bedside cabinets, coffee tables, dining chairs and other products were very popular in Canada, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore, with overseas sales increasing by more than 200% year-on- year .

 

Shibazhi, a Chinese-style designer brand , uses paper to make unique furniture , and its products have won many design awards . Its products, such as folding round stools and folding and telescopic shoe-changing stools, are full of design sense and are lightweight and suitable for cross-border transportation. They are very popular in the European, American and Asia-Pacific markets.

 

In addition, Genji Wood Language, a brand that has been leading the solid wood furniture category on Tmall for many years , opened up its overseas market during this year's 618. Small products such as solid wood beds, dining tables, desks and chests have grown rapidly in Singapore, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea, with year-on-year growth of more than 80%.

 

"In the past, it was not easy to export large items such as furniture , as consumers would find it difficult to make a purchase decision without seeing the actual product. " The head of overseas operations at Tmall and Taobao said that the new 3D model room function launched this year allows overseas consumers to see the furniture layout and function display more intuitively , effectively stimulating overseas consumers to purchase .

 

During Tmall's 618 shopping festival, residential furniture exports grew by 60% overall. The lack of overseas production capacity caused by the overseas epidemic, coupled with a significant increase in demand for computer chairs, study tables, etc. due to working from home, contributed to the overall growth of furniture exports. From the trend point of view, Chinese furniture with a sense of design has become popular, which also means that overseas consumers have begun to pay for Chinese creations.

 

In order to speed up the export of furniture overseas, Tmall Taobao Overseas has cooperated with Cainiao to open large furniture shipping routes to Singapore, Malaysia and Australia, making the transportation of large furniture more convenient and faster. At the same time, Tmall Taobao Overseas is also focusing on creating overseas furniture shopping with confidence , selecting qualified furniture, and helping users upgrade their experience from "looking" to "browsing" through 3D model rooms , allowing more products to support official local returns, boosting the sales of domestic furniture overseas , and solving the problem of merchants going overseas .

 

Since the beginning of this year, Tmall and Taobao have achieved strategic upgrades overseas, started a lightweight overseas model, fully opened up overseas channels for merchants, upgraded logistics, payment, operation, after-sales and other services, and achieved zero threshold for merchants to go overseas with one click, greatly reduced operating costs, more convenient cross-border logistics and payment, and guaranteed after-sales services such as returns. So far, more than 80,000 domestic products have been exported for the first time, embracing the overseas Chinese market of nearly 100 million people around the world.
