Walmart moves further into livestream shopping

Walmart announced an expanded partnership with live streaming e-commerce platform Talkshoplive to bring more shopping experiences and programs to consumers , according to a Walmart press release .

 

Walmart and Talkshoplive will collaborate on a month-long livestreaming event from February to March, where viewers can interact with the host and purchase products directly in the video without having to exit the livestream.

 

"Talkshoplive 's e-commerce solutions are suitable for businesses and creators of all sizes, and Walmart is expanding its partnership with Talkshoplive . " Casey, vice president of Walmart Brand   Schlaybaugh said, "We are excited to use TalkShopLive 's tools to continue connecting with our customers and bringing together a deep concentration of entertainment and product information . "

 

Walmart and Talkshoplive have been working together since last year . Talkshoplive embeds video players on Walmart's website, shopping tags and partner websites , and customers can then purchase products in the video. Through this expanded partnership with Talkshoplive, Walmart will further enter the field of live streaming and social commerce .

 

In addition, Walmart held its first shoppable live event on Twitter during the holiday season last November . To this end, Walmart partnered with the famous American singer Jason   Derulo partnered on a half-hour variety show to promote products in categories including electronics, home goods, apparel and seasonal decor.

 

Casey , Vice President of Walmart Brand   "Walmart will continue to bring more events to customers while making shopping easier, " Schlaybaugh said in a December statement.

 

Talkshoplive CEO and co-founder Steve Schmidt said in a statement that the partnership enables Walmart "to integrate brands , creators and their suppliers and drive distribution to increase sales conversions, build customer loyalty and create a better shopping experience . "

 

It is understood that the participation in live shopping has increased during the epidemic , according to research firm Coresight   Research predicts it will become a $25 billion industry by 2023.
