Amazon has fallen out of favor in Australia, with only 20% choosing it as their first choice

Recently, an organization conducted a survey of nearly 3,000 Australian consumers. The results showed that only 20% of consumers regard it as their preferred shopping platform, which is also thought-provoking.

Amazon's online retail services are more popular among the younger generation

In fact, Amazon, as an online retail giant, is more popular with the younger generation. Compared with the older generation, the proportion of Generation Z who choose Amazon as their preferred shopping website is higher, 31% vs. 21%. It is true that young people are proficient in smart software and online, but this is not the case for the elderly.

At the same time, nearly a third of Australian consumers believe that Amazon provides a more personalized shopping experience than other retailers. However, if other retailers provide the same online services, discounts and purchasing experience as Amazon, Amazon Australian consumers will switch to other retailers.

In addition, 53% of Gen Z consumers want to reduce their shopping on Amazon, compared to 39% of middle-aged and older consumers. The study also said that 75% of Gen Z consumers are more likely to shop online directly from brands, compared to 66% of older generations.

The research shows that for Australian Amazon consumers, the biggest reasons for not shopping on Amazon are better selections at other retailers and fake or low-quality products. One-third of Australian consumers ultimately choose Amazon based on search results, while 31% shop on other websites first.
