German media: eBay was exposed to a malfunction, and all Android users were affected

On March 23, according to German media reports, a large number of users in Germany reported that their eBay categories had malfunctions. The users who encountered this problem were all using Android mobile phones.

It is reported that users who encountered this problem found that eBay classifieds could not be used normally on their Android phones. The cause of this situation was reportedly a faulty Android component. German media said that users can also solve this problem themselves in a few simple steps.

Users first need to uninstall the faulty update for the Webview component, then follow the instructions in the link. Although the faulty component affects the app, users can also call up eBay's classifieds in a mobile browser, which also solves the problem.

It is reported that as of 9:27 a.m. on March 23, the affected cities and regions reported in Germany include Hamburg, Berlin, Munich and Dresden. Common problems include payment process (3.06%), bidding price (2.54%), login problems (34.14%), receiving and sending messages (6.82%) and website problems (53.44%).

Although eBay, as one of the e-commerce giants, has long been committed to providing good services to sellers, over time, sellers will always encounter some situations where eBay sends system error reports. In addition to eBay's own problems, sometimes sellers will also receive system error reports from eBay when they do not follow the guidelines in specific steps, including:

1. "The weight of the package is invalid or missing."

reason: The listing does not provide the shipping weight of the product.

Solution: In the product details, find "Shipping Information". Here, the seller needs to fill in "Shipping weight minor" and "Shipping weight major".

2. “This listing would cause you to exceed the quantity you can list.”

Reason: Sellers can only list a certain amount of inventory per month. Sellers receive this notification when they try to upload more than that limit.

Solution: eBay will send a URL where the seller can call eBay and request that the limit be increased.

3. “eBay account not connected.”

Cause: This error report appears when the connection between the eBay integration application and the eBay seller account is broken. Usually, the connection is broken when the seller adds any primary details or changes the password on the seller panel of the application.

Solution: Reconnect the eBay integration application with your eBay seller account.

In addition to the above three situations, sellers will encounter various problems in the normal sales process, but fortunately, experience will always accumulate slowly, and by patiently solving every problem, novices will always grow into veterans.
