Shopee updates three major policies, Indonesian traditional clothing will be banned from sale!

In the announcement released by Shopee, there is an item that prohibits the sale of traditional Indonesian clothing and Muslim clothing-related products worth less than 30,000 rupiah .

The specific announcement is as follows

Starting from March 23, the following products will be banned from sale on the Indonesian site. The Shopee platform will delete all the illegal products that have been listed, but no penalty points will be generated. If the seller continues to list new related products, they will be deleted and penalty points will be generated.

Indonesian traditional clothing related products : batik & kebaya

Muslim clothing products below 30,000 rupiah : hijab, jilbab, gamis, tunik, baju koko, pashmina, khimar, shola

Sellers should note that if the products sold in the store are not of the above two categories but contain relevant keywords , they may also be deleted by the platform , so sellers must remove relevant store products in a timely manner.

In addition to banning the sale of traditional Indonesian clothing, Shopee has also updated the relevant policies for BPOM certification

From now on, the sale of food , medicine and cosmetics on the Indonesian site requires BPOM certification . For related products that are not currently certified, they will not be able to be displayed and sold on the platform.

In addition, starting from March 26, sellers will not be able to upload products of related categories from the backend.

However, if sellers want to sell such products on Shopee, they need to contact their account manager or Shopee cross-border customer service to apply for sales qualifications after obtaining BPOM certification.

In addition, Shopee will also clean up invalid listings on the Indonesian site that have not been sold within 180 days.

Shopee said that in order to concentrate traffic, improve the conversion rate of effective product listings, and promote store order growth, the Indonesian site will clean up invalid listings. If a product has not completed any orders in the past 180 days, the product will not be displayed and sold on the platform.

In fact, sellers need to always pay attention to changes in sales bans and certification policies on the platform.

Just like this time when Shopee banned the sale of products related to traditional Indonesian clothing , if sellers are not careful and continue to list such products, not only will they be removed from the platform but they will also be penalized, which will not be worth the loss.
