Jumia is one of the largest e-commerce platforms in Africa. It was founded in 2012 and invested by African companies such as MTN, Rocket Internet and Orange, as well as well-known European companies.

Jumia is the third e-commerce company in the world to have its own terminal logistics and delivery, in addition to Amazon and JD.com.

The African market has a population of 800 million and an Internet coverage rate of about 30%, of which 80% of consumers shop through Jumia.



Entry requirements

1. Sellers must have experience in operating cross-border B2C platforms;

2. The company must have an independent e-commerce operation mechanism and assign dedicated personnel to connect with the platform;

3. Sellers need to open a Payoneer corporate account and have inventory to list items.



Store opening process

1. Log in to the website and click "start selling now" below:       

2. Fill in the information. You need to fill in your address and ID card, upload a copy of your ID card, and answer whether the product can be delivered to Lagos and whether you are willing to put the product in Jumia's warehouse according to the actual situation;

If you are opening a store for a company, please select "Register a company" and fill in the business registration number and the legal person company name, which is the name of your company. Of course, the business registration document must also be uploaded. In addition, adding the company's actual address in Nigeria, city, and state of residence is optional.

Select the product category you want to sell. Sellers who have opened stores on websites such as eBay should provide their store front URL link, check the terms, and then click Register Now.

3. Next, you need to follow the training courses provided by Jumia. This process will not take too long. At the same time, Jumia will verify the information submitted by the seller within a few hours. After passing, a verification email will be sent. Click the link to verify the account and then you can list the product and activate the store.

-In 2012, Jumia Group was launched with support from Rocket Internet, MTN and Millicom.
