Consumers take Amazon to court for not getting refunds on returns!

According to the latest news from foreign media, several Amazon consumers sued the online retail giant in a U.S. court in Seattle, claiming that they did not receive a refund even though they returned the goods on time.

On Tuesday, four residents in Illinois, Minnesota and Missouri said in a proposed class-action lawsuit that Amazon "wrongfully recharged them fees and applicable taxes" for their returns.

They said Amazon knew its system failed to deliver on its promise of timely returns and refunds. An Amazon spokesperson declined to comment.

The new lawsuit comes as the Federal Trade Commission prepares to file a lawsuit against Amazon that alleges anti-competitive business practices.

Amazon is also facing an antitrust lawsuit in Seattle over its pricing policies, and California is suing Amazon in state court over its business practices. Amazon has denied wrongdoing in both cases.

The lawsuit filed Tuesday said Amazon's practice has caused many consumers to lose "substantial" money because they didn't notice they were charged or didn't bother to figure out what was going on.

The plaintiffs , represented by the law firm Quinn Emanuel, are seeking class-action status on behalf of millions of U.S. consumers who were allegedly charged by Amazon over the past six years after returning items on time and in their original condition.

The plaintiffs are asking Amazon to pay triple damages as required by Washington state consumer protection law, though their attorneys did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

It is understood that Quinn Emanuel has sued Amazon before. This large national law firm is a law firm that mainly represents consumers, who accused Amazon of artificially raising the prices of goods on the company's website. The case is still under trial and Amazon has denied any responsibility for it.
