Amazon's best-selling products have been removed from shelves

Amazon's best-selling products have been removed from shelves

It is understood that a children's water cup that has sold nearly 350,000 units in the past five years was recently removed from Amazon due to excessive lead content, and the products sold will also be recalled.

Experts say that excessive lead content can cause chronic poisoning in children. It is summer vacation recently, and many parents will choose to take their children out to play. At this time, a water cup is of course very necessary. Parents all know the importance of hydration.

However, at this time, the well-known water cup brand Cupkin.com was exposed to have excessive lead content in its products and needed to be recalled. In the past few years, the brand has mainly sold its products through Amazon and its own independent website, and has always had a good reputation among users.

The recall follows the recall of 7 million Baby Shark bath toys due to safety risks and a previous recall of Cadbury's chocolate products.

It is reported that this time it was the brand's manufacturer Soojimus that announced the recall of its stainless steel children's cups, which include two specifications, eight ounces and twelve ounces. These two sizes of cups are usually sold in sets.

The company released an official statement on its website regarding the recall, which reads: "Since our founding, Cupkin has been guided by a strong commitment to producing safe, high-quality products. Our products undergo rigorous testing recognized by the U.S. CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) to ensure that we can provide consumers with safe products."

The company added: "After recent feedback from consumer advocates and subsequent testing, we found that our double-walled vacuum tumblers may cause lead leakage if the bottom of the tumbler is not properly treated. Under normal circumstances, the liquid in the tumbler will not come into contact with the lead due to the double-wall construction of our tumblers."

Based on this, the company decided to cooperate with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and issued a voluntary product recall notice, recalling 8-ounce and 12-ounce Cupkin cups. No accidents or injuries have been confirmed so far.

The company added: "We advise consumers who purchased these products between 2020 and February 19, 2023 to stop using the cups immediately. Consumers can submit photos of the damaged cups to receive a refund. Consumers who request a refund will receive their refund within four to six weeks."

It can be seen that the issue of child safety is receiving close attention recently. If there are sellers selling similar products, they need to confirm with the manufacturer to ensure that there will be no quality problems.
