Sellers applaud! A breakthrough has been made in this pain point of the Latin American market

For cross-border sellers, the pessimistic market and the sharp drop in orders are undoubtedly a wake-up call. However, the increasingly relaxed return policies of e-commerce platforms have led to frequent returns, which has made sellers suffer from the cost. For many years, sellers have been reluctantly accustomed to "a huge loss for every return".

However, recently, Wu Haiping, Director of the General Administration of Customs' Comprehensive Business Department, said that in order to address the pain points of corporate returns, the measures for import and export returns of cross-border e-commerce goods will be optimized, and research will be conducted to expand the pilot program for cross-customs returns of general export goods of cross-border e-commerce.

In addition, relevant companies have taken the lead in solving the pain points of returns for cross-border sellers.

In early June, at the busy Hong Kong port, Anjun Logistics welcomed the arrival of a batch of e-commerce return goods from Brazil that took 28 days of sea transportation .

It is reported that this is the first batch of B2C e-commerce goods returned from Brazil to China , marking the official completion of the last link of "return to China" in the China-Brazil logistics industry chain created by Anjun Logistics.

Li Jiangbo, head of Anjun Logistics' port business unit , said that in recent years, the total value of products sold overseas by China's cross-border e-commerce sellers has reached more than 100 billion yuan . However, for a long time, the issue of returns and exchanges has also become one of the main obstacles to the development of cross-border e-commerce.

Before the export return channel was opened, returns in traditional cross-border e-commerce markets such as Europe and the United States were the biggest headache for sellers. Once returned by buyers, the goods often face the fate of being destroyed, because it is more difficult for sellers to bear the various costs of returning them to China. Even though the industry later came up with overseas warehouses , bonded warehouses, etc. to store returned goods , and adopted the method of clearing goods at a discount abroad, this still invisibly increased the operating costs of sellers.

In the Latin American e-commerce market , which started relatively late, there is no return channel due to the relatively slow construction of customs and logistics links.

But this situation changed last year.

In April 2022, the General Administration of Customs of China issued a document stating that returns and exchanges in reverse logistics can cancel central inspection, breaking through the last hurdle that prevented many goods from being returned.

At this point, some foresighted cross-border logistics companies have begun to take action.

As a leader in Latin American cross-border direct mail lines, Anjun Logistics has been deeply rooted in Brazil for many years , investing heavily in building infrastructure from domestic warehousing and consolidation, trunk resource integration to Brazilian customs ground operations, last-mile delivery and other links , continuously improving operational guarantees.

In May this year , Anjun Logistics' Hong Kong consolidation warehouse was officially put into operation , opening up the last link of the entire logistics chain from China's supply chain to Brazil . The 3,500-square-meter standard independent warehouse is close to the ocean terminal and about a 10-minute drive from Hong Kong Airport. This consolidation warehouse can handle palletizing operations, overseas return operations, high-value cargo warehousing, local consolidation collection and other businesses.

The successful arrival of the returned goods has enhanced the operational capabilities of Anjun’s entire logistics supply chain .

Reverse logistics products from Brazil to China can arrive at the port in 28 days by sea transport, and the return operation can be completed in 35 days at the longest . This greatly realizes the value reshaping of the platform's return problem, solves the seller's operational risks, and thus returns to the essence of profitability.

It is reported that this batch of goods is clothing-related items with higher value, and there is a chance that they will be returned to China or sent to a third-party country for resale in the future .

If helping Chinese brands ship goods globally and connecting China's supply chain with foreign end consumers is the 1.0 stage of cross-border logistics companies, then helping platforms and sellers return goods from abroad through reverse logistics is undoubtedly the 2.0 version of cross-border logistics.

As the first commercial company in China to successfully return B2C small packages by sea freight, Anjun has realized a fully closed loop of the Latin American cross-border logistics industry chain. From now on, Latin American cross-border platforms and merchants can also return packages that have not completed customs clearance by sea freight, which means that the return guarantee for large-scale sales from China to Brazil has been further improved.

Those who see first are wise, and those who take the lead are smart ! Anjun Logistics, which has been developing rapidly in Latin America, has been innovating and changing to cope with the ever-changing market changes. This is the only way for the company to upgrade its strategy and the inevitable trend of the industry's future development.
