On June 7, the reporter learned from Cainiao International Express that in preparation for the 618 promotion in South Korea, Cainiao and AliExpress announced that more than 30 selected warehouses in Hangzhou, Huizhou, Dongguan and other places can directly ship to South Korea. As a result, AliExpress managed merchants with stock in East China and South China can also easily ship goods and seize the opportunity of explosive orders in the Korean market during the overseas promotion.
It is reported that this is another major logistics upgrade since Cainiao and AliExpress opened a large-scale logistics line in South Korea in February this year . This move can not only promote the East China and South China industrial belts to go overseas through cross-border e-commerce, but also increase the richness of AliExpress's Korean market, and the SKU can be increased to more than 1 million.
Through the upgraded China-South Korea cross-border logistics , merchants in North China can normally prepare goods in warehouses in Weihai, Yantai and other places in Shandong, and then transport them to South Korea by sea or air; merchants in East China and South China can prepare goods in more than 30 nearby Cainiao preferred warehouses, and after the goods are shipped out of the warehouse, they will be directly handed over to Cainiao for cross-border transportation to South Korea, creating a multi-level cross-border logistics solution with a delivery period of 5-10 days for Korean consumers.
In the past year, AliExpress and Cainiao have continuously upgraded the cross-border logistics solutions between China and South Korea. On the one hand, AliExpress has fully launched the semi-hosted model. In order to allow more types of merchants to enjoy this wave of traffic dividends, AliExpress has joined hands with Cainiao to upgrade the official logistics routes. Large items can also join the semi-hosted and full-hosted models and enjoy Choice labeling; in addition, AliExpress continues to improve consumers' shopping experience through Choice based on the hosting model, while increasing market investment, growing rapidly in South Korea, and has long been ranked first in the Korean shopping app download list, and became the mobile app with the most new users in the Korean market in 2023.
Public information shows that in April this year, AliExpress signed actress Tang Wei as the spokesperson for the Korean market together with Ma Dongxi. The user scale of AliExpress has surpassed South Korea's local e-commerce giants Gmarket and 11st, becoming the second largest e-commerce platform in South Korea.
