More than one million in funds were withheld, and Amazon took action against sellers again!

As we all know, compared with domestic sellers' accounts, overseas local accounts enjoy more rights and interests: high weight, policy benefits, low tax rates, low store closure rates, etc., so that some sellers will choose to register or even purchase overseas local accounts.

However, due to the difficulty and complicated procedures of registering a local account, most sellers would prefer to purchase second-hand Amazon local accounts from service providers. However, the hidden routines and risks behind buying and selling accounts are ignored by sellers.

Over one million yuan of funds were withheld, the seller said: I want to force the opening

"My shop is selling goods normally, but I can't withdraw money. The total amount of money in my two accounts is 150,000 pounds," a seller posted on a social forum seeking a solution.

It is understood that since the beginning of this year, funds have been withheld from local accounts in the UK, and this seller is no exception. Three local accounts have had the same problem. One store has not been able to withdraw 60,000 pounds, and the funds withheld from two other accounts total 150,000 pounds. The total funds withheld from the seller are more than one million yuan in RMB.

Amazon’s actions always have traces to follow, but what is the reason for Amazon to withhold funds from sellers’ accounts on multiple occasions?

The seller speculated that it might be because the store he bought had passed the warranty and had to go through a KYC data review. The seller said that he received an email from Amazon in early April, when the store was still selling goods normally, but the money was withheld by Amazon and could no longer be withdrawn.

“I can’t contact the previous service provider. Some friends also said that the store funds were withheld because the Shenzhen account service provider was arrested in March. Some service providers deleted WeChat and ran away,” the seller said, adding that it is very likely that there was a problem with the company address information registered with the account.

It is a recognized fact in the industry that there is a huge demand for overseas local accounts. However, the demand has also led to many chaos. In order to sell more accounts, some service providers use one address to repeatedly register multiple companies, and some are even fake companies.

Many service providers will not give out codes, so that customers can’t use the codes to log in to the UK business backend to check the company’s status. However, these service providers will use the codes to change the company’s address, and then re-register the company with this address. Using one address to repeatedly register multiple companies can easily be identified as related by Amazon, and it is common for stores to be shut down.

There is no way to solve this problem for now. Sellers who want to try to force the opening have posted messages asking for help, and many sellers have offered strategies.

It is recommended to go through the normal channels for appeal funds. You only have one chance, so cherish it.

If the sales volume exceeds 15,000 pounds, there will be an audit. If the legal person does not cooperate, you can only go through internal KYC. It is better to deal with it as soon as possible.

Find the service provider to complain, you can't do it yourself.

Sell the account to the service provider and let him make the money himself.

It is not recommended to force an opening. Anyone who forces an opening by asking you to pay first is a scammer.

It is better to go through the normal complaint channels and avoid taking shortcuts.

Some sellers have unique ideas and put forward a variety of suggestions, but overall, more sellers still recommend going through normal appeal channels. So can sellers succeed in their appeals through normal appeal channels?

According to Amazon regulations, in order to appeal for funds, the store must be closed for 90 days and the appeal process must go through multiple stages, including fund appeal and waiting for review. In addition, the legal person must cooperate with the video during the appeal process. However, according to the seller, the service provider has run away, and the possibility of the seller contacting the service provider and the legal person is low.

For sellers, buying and selling accounts is a common thing. But if the store is closed and the funds are withheld due to the purchased account, it is not worth it.

After purchasing a UK local account at a low price, the seller lost all his money

A seller revealed that at the end of 2022, he bought two Amazon UK local accounts with KYC and VAT from a service provider. The original price was more than 10,000 yuan. At the beginning of the year, there was a promotion, and the two accounts only cost half the price. But what the seller didn't expect was that the account was blocked by Amazon not long after it was purchased, and the funds were also withheld.

After investigation, the seller discovered that the account sold by the service provider was actually a transferred account. That is, the account was first registered with a Chinese company and then changed to a British company in the background. However, it was easily detected by Amazon, and the next step was to determine the association and ban the account from sale.

Although the seller found out in April that the account was not a British company, it was too late. The account warranty period had expired and the goods had already been shipped overseas. The seller's account was subsequently blocked, but fortunately the service provider did not run away. After several rounds of negotiations between the seller and the service provider, the service provider refunded part of the fee the seller paid to purchase the account.

There is no good product at a low price, which undoubtedly warns the majority of sellers not to lose the big picture for the small, otherwise it will be a waste of effort. Although Amazon does not allow multiple accounts to operate, many sellers will buy second-hand Amazon accounts from service providers, but these accounts are not so-called safe and reliable.

Especially in social forums, many sellers mentioned that "the company addresses of the purchased British local accounts have been uniformly changed to a PO Box address." Some of the accounts they bought, these British companies have been cancelled or are in the process of being cancelled by the government.

In this case, it may be because the service provider arbitrarily changed the company address to avoid legal responsibility. Some time ago, a service provider used a large number of Amazon buyers' addresses to register in the UK, but eventually ran away, alarming the US government and the US FBI.

Some sellers also speculated that another reason for this situation is that the government has detected that the company is suspected of illegal registration and is preparing to cancel it. If the subject addresses of five or six local accounts are changed to the same address, the risk of association can be imagined.

Once Amazon regularly checks the store information and operating conditions, the probability of the seller's store being blocked is as high as 100%. Compliance can be said to be the general trend, and Amazon's efforts to regulate compliance operations will only increase in the future.

Some time ago, Amazon Europe released a new announcement, the general content of which is: EU sellers who generate sales of no less than 2,000 euros or no less than 30 orders in the current calendar year will need to provide administrative compliance information before October 1, 2023. If the seller does not submit the required information for the Amazon sales account, the account may be deactivated and the funds will be withheld.

Sellers have already spent a lot of money to get a local account in the EU. Now the EU policy has changed suddenly, which is another big challenge for sellers. This also means that the threshold for EU accounts will become higher and higher, and sellers should not do what they know is impossible.
