Rampant! Freight forwarders steal goods privately and clear customer balances

The overseas warehouse secretly stole the customer's goods and modified the backend account and fund balance, causing the customer's overseas warehouse account balance to be cleared and the deduction to a negative number. It was almost rampant to the point of open robbery! This company was previously exposed for refusing to compensate after losing goods and also resorted to threats and intimidation.

With the adjustment of relevant policies of cross-border platforms, overseas warehouses are crucial to the development of sellers. Some sellers have taken advantage of the advantages of overseas warehouses to greatly reduce cross-border transportation costs. However, the service level of some overseas warehouses still needs to be improved.

The freight forwarder steals the goods privately and modifies the seller's backend account

Recently, an industry insider L exposed the rampant behavior of Jinan *Ma Overseas Warehouse. According to L, *Ma Overseas Warehouse stole four boxes of his goods, with a value of about RMB 30,000. The overseas warehouse's shipping information was February, but he did not ship any goods in February.

The payment card information used in the stolen goods order was not L's information because he had never opened the card. After he tried to contact the other party many times without success and told them that he would take legal action, *Ma's trick came.

At that time , L's account balance was 61 US dollars, which was not enough to pay for the four boxes of goods. *Ma Overseas Warehouse secretly recharged 1,000 yuan into his account and sent the goods away when it was enough to pay for the delivery fee. Later, the recharge of 1,000 yuan failed and the money was returned, turning his account balance into a negative number.

According to the contract signed by both parties, when the account balance is negative and insufficient to pay the warehouse usage fee, the inventory goods will be disposed of by *Ma at will.

" Ma arbitrarily tampered with the backend account and fund balance, and secretly sent the goods with our money! Not only did he steal our goods, but he also made us owe him money ! " L was very angry. Later, he found that the backend account password had also been modified and he could not log in.

Later, L contacted *Ma headquarters many times, but the headquarters passed the buck to the Jinan branch, which simply disappeared and could not be contacted, and did not respond to any messages on WeChat.

A colleague bluntly said: "Ma was clearly robbing, but he still opened a company!" According to reports, Ma Overseas Warehouse was exposed for various unscrupulous operations as early as 2019.

Seller Z introduced that 350 pieces of goods were transferred from the Amazon warehouse to the *Ma overseas warehouse. After all the goods arrived at the overseas warehouse, he contacted the salesperson to change the labels and resend them back to the Amazon warehouse. The salesperson said that he could not handle it and asked him to sell it locally at a low price second-hand. Considering the high value of the products (the purchase cost was about tens of thousands of yuan), Z decided to transfer the goods back to Hong Kong. At this time, *Ma said that the goods were lost at the door, and later changed his statement that the goods were treated as garbage.

When Z asked for monitoring of the lost goods, *Ma refused to provide it. Z asked for compensation and provided a purchase order, but *Ma used the customs declaration to shirk responsibility, refused to compensate, and threatened that Z's goods were of unknown origin and would be investigated by the British tax authorities, and his Amazon account would be blocked.

The sellers were shocked by the loss of goods and threats. Another seller S also said that he had also had goods lost by *Ma and could not communicate with them. In the end, they did not compensate him a penny. Many sellers pointed out that *Ma was an unscrupulous service provider and hoped that it would disappear as soon as possible and not harm everyone.

However, from 2019 to 2023, *Ma has been active in the freight forwarding circle, and I don’t know how many people have been harmed in the process!

Advantages emerge, sellers use overseas warehouses to reduce costs

Overseas warehouses are crucial to the development of cross-border sellers, so sellers must be careful when choosing overseas warehouses.

With policy changes on platforms such as Amazon, domestic sellers who do not want to be restricted in shipping have begun to deploy overseas warehouses on a large scale. Some sellers have taken advantage of the advantages of overseas warehouses to greatly reduce cross-border transportation costs.

Xiaosheng Information Technology, a seller on Amazon's US site, had a lot of returns due to unfamiliarity with the platform's rules. In order to solve the shortcomings of inventory and other businesses, the seller built his own overseas warehouse in the United States, expanding from the initial 100 square meters to 5,500 square meters. At this time, the overseas warehouse, which was originally used only for storing goods, was also given a new function - transfer warehouse, which greatly reduced the cost of cross-border transportation.

Lechuang, a well-known seller in the industry, is also focusing on overseas warehouses and has achieved good returns. According to its recently released 2022 annual report, Lechuang's total revenue was 3.208 billion yuan, with a net profit of 219 million yuan. The company's public overseas warehouse service business achieved a total revenue of 671 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 129.99%.

The fact that powerful sellers are all making plans proves the great significance of overseas warehouses to cross-border sellers. In recent years, cross-border e-commerce has maintained a high growth momentum, and overseas warehouses have become a new growth point for foreign trade.

Solving the Pain Points of Large-Piece Goods Overseas Logistics

When cross-border sellers ship goods overseas, there are higher logistics costs and risks for large items. The shipping cost of some large items is almost the same as the value of the goods, which is a headache for countless sellers. Large products have been in high demand among foreign sellers in recent years.

At the beginning of the epidemic, Europe and the United States began to work from home. The sales growth of large products such as office furniture, outdoor gardens, and fitness equipment was unprecedented, and the profits were considerable. Some categories were as high as 50%, and some hot-selling categories had orders until the end of the following year. In 2022, the demand for the furniture industry returned to normal, but the market still had growth. It is estimated that in 2023, the global furniture market will reach US$770 billion, with a compound annual growth rate of 5.31% from 2023 to 2027.

The overseas market demand for large-sized goods is huge, and the online share is also rising year by year. However, for sellers, how can they control the logistics costs of large-sized products and avoid the risks of going overseas? SLM, which has been focusing on large-sized products drop shipping for more than 7 years, can solve this problem.

SLMW, SLM's overseas warehouse business, is committed to delivering high-quality and low-priced Asian goods to American consumers with the fastest and most accurate logistics services. It has set up warehouse distribution centers in many cities in the United States to implement the principle of nearby delivery; orders before 8:00 a.m. US time every day will be shipped out on the same day; SFP orders are guaranteed to be shipped out on the same day; and more than 10,000 large packages can be delivered on time every day. SLMW uses a comprehensive warehouse management system and a multi-post self-inspection mechanism to reduce the error rate. The current contract error rate is 0.1% and the warehouse error rate is 0.05%.

In addition to good service, the most important thing for sellers to consider when choosing an overseas warehouse is its reputation, especially for large products with higher value.

It is understood that in 2023, a large number of overseas warehouses in California, the United States, will go bankrupt due to reduced cargo volume, account problems or management problems . Some overseas warehouses will privately sell customers' goods, such as the operation of the *Ma overseas warehouse mentioned in the previous article, so it is very important to choose a reliable overseas warehouse and examine its years of operation.

SLMW has comprehensive indicators for the assessment of listed companies, and its cooperative customers include industry leaders and listed companies. In 2022, SLMGroup won the "Collaborative Development Award" awarded by listed companies in Central China. In 2023, it helped customers recover goods that were sold without authorization by third-party warehouses due to poor management and bankruptcy, helping customers minimize losses.
