300 people were arrested and two agency operation fraud gangs were arrested!

Can you make a steady profit just by investing money? High returns without operating? Can you make money from foreigners without doing anything? ... Such inflammatory slogans can be seen everywhere, but is the reality really as advertised by the agency operation fraud gangs?

Two fraud gangs operating online games in Henan were arrested, 300 people were arrested

Recently, Haishu police successfully cracked down on two cross-border e-commerce agency fraud gangs in Henan, arrested 300 suspects , seized more than 200 computers, mobile phones and other crime equipment, and initially seized more than 10 million yuan in criminal funds. At present, the criminal gang has linked more than 800 fraud cases across the country, involving more than 200 million yuan.

Different from many previous fraudulent operating companies that deceived people into buying operating packages, this criminal gang claimed that the company undertook cross-border e-commerce hosting business and used the cross-border e-commerce "goshopping" platform in the European and American markets. The key was that the project had good benefits and high returns.

"As long as you invest a sum of money and rent an electronics store, you can get foreigners' money." The company used this as a gimmick to commit fraud.

Ms. Wang is one of the victims. After adding the contact information of an employee of the company in April 2022, she was attracted by the propaganda of the fraud gang. She immediately placed an order for 20,000 yuan to rent the e-commerce store claimed by the criminal gang. Subsequently, she continued to invest money in the store according to the instructions. However, after a while, Ms. Wang found that her store income had not been received and wanted to withdraw. However, the fraud company refused to refund the money on the grounds of "breach of contract" and swallowed up all the rent and payment for opening the store.

In June 2022, Ms. Wang reported to the Haishu police, saying that she was suspected of being defrauded. It was not until March this year that the Haishu police patrolled the Internet and tracked down two cross-border e-commerce operating platforms in Henan and arrested them. The case is still under further investigation.

Advanced version of agency operation fraud: luring people to open stores, requiring them to purchase goods, and spending money to buy traffic

According to the police report, the above scams are usually launched by a seemingly legitimate company or platform, which claims that the company can operate cross-border e-commerce and use this as an investment project to attract investors. The way to lure investors is often to promise high returns and low entry barriers.

But in fact, these operating companies do not have business licenses. Their so-called cross-border e-commerce platforms are just platform companies with servers located overseas. The platforms do not conduct substantive transactions, but the sales personnel forge product sales records in the background to create the illusion that the store is operating normally and even placing orders. The sellers' initial income is only the initial capital investment, but in the end they return empty-handed.

At present, this novel fraud model has caused many people to fall victim, and their usual methods are as follows

Lure them to open a store . The fraud gangs attract investors by placing advertisements and using gimmicks such as "low cost" or even "zero cost", and then ask them to purchase electronic stores of different levels (ranging from 20,000 yuan, 50,000 yuan, and 100,000 yuan);

Requesting for purchase of goods . Soon after the investor purchases the store, he or she will find that the store is not profitable as expected. At this time, the salesperson will guide the investor to pay for the purchase of goods on the grounds that the store needs to be purchased;

Spend money to buy traffic . After successfully purchasing goods, investors will find that the goods still cannot be sold and the goods will be piled up. The sales staff will suggest investors to buy traffic to increase the number of orders. After investors spend money, the sales staff will create the illusion of orders through back-end operations;

In the early stage, these fraud gangs will return part of the "profit" to stabilize investors, but this is far less than the initial investment of investors in opening stores and other expenses. When investors suddenly realize that they want to close the store, the fraud gangs will refuse to refund the money on the grounds of breach of contract and swallow up all the investors' funds.

There are countless similar fraud cases, and they involve a wide range of areas. They will set up multiple companies at home and abroad to evade supervision and crackdown.

After encountering a fancy scam, the seller's store was frozen

When cross-border e-commerce becomes a big market, it will naturally be targeted by some people. Investors must not take the chance and believe that they can make money by opening a store without investing anything. There are many cases where novice sellers see short videos about cross-border e-commerce and have the idea of opening a store, but end up with nothing after investing tens of thousands of yuan.

Not only the new sellers who have just entered the market, but even the experienced sellers who have been through many battles on Amazon cannot avoid being tricked by the unscrupulous scams. One senior seller said that he spent 30,000 yuan to find someone to run his store on his behalf, but in the end his store was frozen, and no one cared about it after it was frozen.

There are also sellers who have fallen into the trap and summarized their experiences: "In total, I was defrauded of more than 80,000 yuan. After their operations, my store has been dragged to death." So much so that there is a saying circulating in the cross-border circle: "Newbies are treated as leeks by training institutions, bosses are treated as leeks by agents, and everyone in the circle is a leek."

"The other party guaranteed that there would be dozens of orders per day in the first month, and nearly a thousand orders per day in the second month," said one operator. But the reality was completely the opposite. After signing the contract, the agency completely became a hands-off boss, and the company's orders once fell to a freezing point.

After contacting this agency once, they boasted that they would definitely have a huge sales volume. After a while, the company's products suddenly received thousands of reviews. I thought they would have a huge sales volume, but the platform conducted a strict investigation and the company's products were also out of business due to illegal mergers and variants.

When talking about agent operation, the comments from people in the industry are mixed. Many sellers said: "These are wolves in sheep's clothing. They disappear as soon as the money is paid. There is no sales, and it is difficult to keep the store." Money is one thing, the key is that after all the operations, you will either return to the starting point or fall into the dust.

However, aside from the controversy among insiders, there are still many down-to-earth agency companies, apart from some "bad apples". One seller said that the agency company earned 6 million RMB after acting as an agent for a store for a year, and suggested that some sellers should consider larger companies that provide one-to-one services when looking for an agency company.

The editor learned that some cross-border e-commerce agency operation companies on the market currently offer cooperation packages ranging from several thousand yuan to nearly 50,000 yuan.

Take the 49,800 package as an example. It mainly includes registering an independent website store, connecting with the company's top team to design and optimize the store, connecting with international transit warehouses, providing stable brand supply chain services, opening Facebook advertising accounts, independent website product testing and selection, and independent website operations. The store is managed by the company team, and investors only need to cooperate with the company's personnel. The service period is 12 months, and the store performance guarantee assessment is 30,000 US dollars.

Different prices provide different services, and the quality of services in terms of supply solutions, operation guidance, product management, international logistics, etc. is also different. The editor recommends that sellers who want to get involved in the cross-border e-commerce industry should learn through formal channels to avoid falling into traps such as zero supply and fake stores. Experienced sellers should still do background checks when looking for an agent, and try to choose an agent with a larger scale and some experience.
