From sellers to logistics companies, from writing copy, processing product images to AI customer service, ChatGPT has quietly invaded every aspect of cross-border e-commerce. Some people have even developed a ChatGPT addiction and said they can’t live without ChatGPT. The sudden wave of account bans has made ChatGPT users anxious. So, what is the role of ChatGPT for sellers? Does ChatGPT have no drawbacks? Can it replace manual labor?
ChatGPT has banned a large number of accounts. Has the seller’s experience card expired?
A few days ago, the news of ChatGPT's large-scale account blocking spread widely in the circle. Many users reported that ChatGPT blocked a large number of accounts in Asia, and even Plus members who had activated the paid function were not spared. People in the circle reminded each other not to log in to their accounts to avoid affecting their own accounts.
As soon as the news came out, some people said they couldn't survive, and some people in the industry said: "I was not spared, my trial card expired." Every word of feedback from netizens seemed to point to one fact: ChatGPT is very important.
So what are the main functions of ChatGPT for sellers? Bai Tao, founder and CEO of Shijiyu, said that sellers mainly use ChatGPT for copywriting, such as product and advertising copywriting; the second is user interaction templates.
Chinese companies are very willing to accept new things. When ChatGPT first appeared, many companies connected to ChatGPT , including Jiyu, which is mainly used for multiple rounds of conversations with users. In Bai Tao's opinion, ChatGPT has a particularly good recognition effect on local customs, open things, and especially small languages.
"After using the instant messaging platform combined with ChatGPT, some sellers have reduced their customer service staff from 20 to 10," said Bai Tao. The work of 20 people may be inefficient due to lack of tool assistance. After using AI-assisted tools, it can replace some simple and repetitive work, optimize the entire workflow, improve manual efficiency, and allow manual work to do more in-depth work, such as operation assistance and product optimization.
At the same time, after some customers accessed AI, the communication time with users was reduced from 24 hours to 12 hours, which improved efficiency, increased customer satisfaction, and reduced the return rate. It is worth noting that AI can prioritize users with more anxious emotions and let humans handle them. Although it is a simple time series change, you can see that the return complaints will be significantly reduced. Some customers' return complaints have dropped by 30%.
But access to ChatGPT does not mean a permanent solution. Bai Tao said that the company will use ChatGPT to generate some customer service response templates. In this process, manual customer service is required to process ChatGPT 's responses, remove some of the nonsense given by ChatGPT , and replace them with the answers that users want, such as orders and logistics questions asked by users, and give users satisfactory answers.
Many people only see the advantages of ChatGPT , but the same thing often has both advantages and disadvantages.
ChatGPT cannot replace human labor, it can only play an auxiliary role
"Generating copywriting is just the simplest function in ChatGPT, and the rules are very complicated," Bai Tao said. Many people know that the biggest feature of ChatGPT is openness. If you ask it a question, it is likely to give a lot of replies, but the customer service scenario is a narrow scenario and needs to be changed according to user needs. For example: when a user is angry, ChatGPT may still be talking nonsense, which requires manual instructions.
When using AI, you need to train it and tell it that you are a customer service representative. Secondly, tell it some questions and answers. After this series of operations, AI will give more accurate and complete answers.
Shortly after ChatGPT was launched, Bai Tao mobilized half of the company's AI resources to conduct research. In Bai Tao's view, ChatGPT is the future.
In the future, more sellers will embrace ChatGPT, and ChatGPT will lead sellers to new heights. But Bai Tao also pointed out: "No matter what, it serves products and scenarios, and AI cannot replace human labor." Many practitioners are worried that AI will replace human labor, but the reality is that AI has been developed for so many years, and no industry has disappeared because of it.
By combining AI with scenario-based applications, the company has solidified this business operation model on the platform, and AI only plays an auxiliary role in the scenario, doing some simple repetitive work, optimizing the company's operational organizational structure, and improving work efficiency.
The retention rate of independent stations is not high, but the order volume is considerable
After the Amazon ban in 2021, many sellers moved to independent sites, but the actual retention rate was not high. In particular, the serious inflation in Europe and the United States and the decline in local consumption capacity have had a great impact on independent site sellers. Some sellers in Eastern Europe have made trade-offs in the market because the COD signing rate cannot be improved.
But in terms of order volume, it is on the rise. Bai Tao said that the overall size of Shishiyu's customers is quite large, and the more they sell, the greater their demand for customer service. In the past two years, the demand on Shishiyu's platform has been rising, which is basically due to the increase in sellers' orders.
"The operation of independent websites and platforms is different," Bai Tao said. Platform operation is more about supply chain and capital flow, because most of your money is spent on the platform, but independent websites are more about traffic, how to place ads and achieve conversions?
Bai Tao agrees with sellers' multi-platform layout, but does not agree that every seller should make such layout and attempt, because the genes of the two are different. Brands on Amazon must build independent websites, because only on independent websites can they guide traffic and accumulate a group of loyal fans and customers, but this requires sellers to persist.
On the contrary, sellers who sell goods in bulk are not suitable for independent websites because they do not have any brand. Even if they build an independent website and accumulate a lot of fans, after changing a product later, the fans may not be interested in this product, which is not conducive to the accumulation of fans.
In terms of product categories, Bai Tao believes that as long as sellers are willing to dig deep, persist, improve products based on customer needs, and constantly make breakthroughs, they will have opportunities on any platform. Of course, the seasonality of products cannot be too strong.
Some sellers fail in switching from platforms to independent sites. Bai Tao believes that there are three main reasons: first, they are reluctant to invest in the early and later stages; second, some sellers transform to independent sites, but only put two or three people there, and give up when they don’t see the effect after one to two months; third, they have unclear product positioning, and have not thought clearly about their own products and target customer groups, and do not know whether they can accurately capture the target customer group, and they rashly enter the independent site.
Of course, are the goods good? Is the logistics effective? Is the service meticulous? Is the operation refined? ... etc. are also factors that sellers need to consider. ChatGPT Timely Words title |
