Multiple Amazon warehouses burst, goods still not on shelves for 50 days

Currently, many FBA warehouses are overwhelmed, sellers’ goods are on the shelves for a long time, and there is a serious phenomenon of lost goods. Not only are the warehouses ineffective, but there are also potential risks in the first leg. A former employee of a freight forwarding company lied about receiving the goods, causing losses of up to one million to sellers and peers . Cross-border sellers had expected a surge in orders during the peak season, but the logistics link failed.

 

Multiple warehouses are overwhelmed: slow stocking and frequent lost items

 

Recently, many sellers have complained about the slow stocking and lost items at Amazon warehouses, and the warehouses have become a mess during the peak season.

 

The most intuitive feeling of sellers is that the shelf life of some warehouses is as long as 1 month, sometimes even close to 2 months.

 

One seller said that only half of the same batch of goods from FTW1 warehouse was put on the shelves , and the other half would not be confirmed until 20 days later, and it was useless to open several cases ; another seller's goods from IND9 warehouse, which were delivered on August 29 , have not been registered for more than 50 days , and the reply received after opening a case was to wait patiently ; two batches of goods from the same seller in IND9 warehouse waited for more than 60 days before being put on the shelves . More sellers have similar experiences:

 

“——A batch of goods received on September 15 has not yet been put on the shelves ;

—— GYR2 has been in the warehouse for more than ten days without any movement ;

—— The logistics showed that it was signed for on the 10th. One week later, the goods are still in transit. I am really speechless ;
—— LAS1 is really not good, and LAX9 is also said to be slow ;

——It takes a long time to put the product on the shelves. It has been almost a week since it was sent to the warehouse , but there is still no news .

—— The shipments sent to IND9 and MQJI in late August and early September have not been fully received yet, and it has been 50 days .

 

Currently, sellers are experiencing slow delivery of their products, especially at some popular warehouses. According to feedback from multiple sellers, several Amazon warehouses are currently overwhelmed , such as the relatively popular ONT8, LAX9, LAX1, SMF3, FTW1, IND9, LGB8, GYR3, GYR2, MQJ1, SJC7, etc.

 

When the warehouse is overloaded, in addition to slow stocking, lost items and goods also occur frequently in the warehouse.

 

One seller said that the actual number of his shipments was several hundred pieces less, and the response he received when he opened a case was always that the items in the shipment would be investigated , and then the case would be marked as "Investigation completed - the contents of the shipment have been counted and confirmed" , and finally it would be left unresolved.

 

A seller who lost more than 100 pieces of goods encountered the same situation . The goods had been signed for a month and were in the completed status . After the investigation, the goods were not found. Another seller who lost 200 pieces of goods said that he was numb . He is currently opening a case to communicate and supplement the packing list and other documents . He doesn't know when he can find the goods.

 

It is even more troublesome when high-value products are lost . One seller said that he submitted a packing list for investigation and it is still under investigation. The most feared thing for high-value products is that Amazon will not acknowledge or compensate.

 

There are many sellers who have encountered lost items. In this case, everyone will actively contact the platform to solve the problem. However, the replies they get are basically "under investigation", and the platform's replies are all the same, which can be confirmed to be from robots. Amazon's perfunctory service has caused dissatisfaction among many sellers.

 

According to people familiar with the matter, goods have been lost frequently recently. This is the real situation in Amazon warehouses. There are too many goods during the peak season, and it is easy for problems to arise when receiving goods after the warehouse is overwhelmed . However, the goods may not be really lost. The goods may be put back on the shelves soon after, and the warehouse is very messy.

 

During the peak season every year, Amazon warehouses always experience problems such as slow stocking and lost items. At present, the situation in Amazon warehouses this year does not look optimistic.

 

Amazon has cancelled or closed 66 warehouses in the United States this year, and laid off as many as 100,000 employees, most of whom were warehouse workers. With few people and a lot of goods in the warehouse, it is easy for chaos to occur.

 

Compared with the many problems in FBA warehouses, the first leg of the journey is not absolutely safe either. This year, some freight forwarders have been hit by problems such as capital turnover. This week, another freight forwarder was exposed for fraudulent receipt of goods, and several companies are pursuing accountability.

 

A "freight forwarder " in Shenzhen fraudulently received goods

 

A supply chain company in Shenzhen is located in Bantian Street. It mainly acts as an agent for express delivery lines in Europe and the United States. It cooperates with e-commerce companies by integrating domestic and foreign express logistics resources. Recently, one of its former employees has set off several "fraud" incidents in the industry.

 

According to the company, Sheng was once an employee of the company, but after he resigned voluntarily without any handover, he immediately turned to the market. He then made a series of operations to fool overseas warehouse A, three peers BCD and some seller customers: he used A 's name to receive B's goods, used C 's name to open an account with D company and sold B's goods to D, and used C's name to receive a batch of goods from direct customers .

 

These companies were not aware of this. As a result, C owed D company about 90,000 yuan , and B's payment for the goods was paid in full, involving about 600,000 yuan; Sheng charged direct customers hundreds of thousands of yuan in logistics fees, and the goods had problems, and it was unclear how many companies were involved. An insider said that the funds had been squandered by Sheng, and that all parties were unable to contact him, and that they had already reported the case to the police.

 

The company clearly stated in the statement that the things that Sheng did after leaving the company were personal behavior and the company was not responsible. Sheng signed "confidentiality obligations" and "non-competition business" agreements with the company during his tenure. After leaving the company voluntarily, he used company resources to resell the company's customer resources and engaged in vicious competition with customers. He also failed to complete the resignation handover and did not settle the accounts, causing significant losses to the company .

 

The company is currently collecting information from all parties and contacting lawyers to handle the matter, and is willing to cooperate with all persons affected by this incident.

 

Faced with the flying pot, the overseas warehouse A, which was used to receive and collect goods, quickly issued a notice. It said that the company has always been engaged in overseas warehouse-related business and has never been involved in cross-border logistics and other freight forwarding services. Sheng used his name to open an account with other logistics and freight forwarding companies, and did not operate the company's staff to receive and sell goods. The company has never given the business license to non-company employees. If the above behavior infringes on the company's rights and interests, affects its reputation, and harms the interests of customers, the company will pursue it to the end.

 

Since the beginning of this year, freight forwarding companies have had irregularities in their operations, and sellers are highly sensitive to such information, fearing that they might accidentally step on a minefield. The fact that Sheng was able to successfully exploit such a loophole has surprised industry insiders, and it has also exposed some of the ills of the logistics industry.

 

The current economic downturn in Europe and the United States has suppressed consumers' willingness to shop, and the dividends of cross-border e-commerce have also been reduced. Sellers' income has declined, and shipments have decreased year-on-year. In this industry context, the business capabilities and capital chains of freight forwarding companies are under great test, and small freight forwarding companies are under particularly great operating pressure. The hidden dangers of accidents caused by tight capital chains or illegal operations are increasing. Sellers also need to raise their awareness of prevention and pay attention to the situation of cooperating logistics companies and docking personnel to avoid complications.
