Due to the frequent outbreaks of the epidemic, overseas merchants have encountered many challenges in expanding their sales in China. How to reduce costs and increase efficiency for cross-border merchants, speed up the unblocking of the import logistics supply chain, and better seize the Tmall 6 18 , the most important business node in the first half of the year, has attracted much attention.
On May 13 , Taobao and Tmall announced the 6.18 merchant relief measures, covering five aspects: financial subsidies, logistics unblocking, traffic subsidies, special epidemic measures, and technology upgrades .
Among them, Tmall International has also announced a number of support measures to address the pain points of cross-border merchants, in order to ease the operating pressure of merchants and enable them to complete their orders smoothly, including financial subsidies, deposit reductions, new merchant support, cross-border logistics guarantees, merchant service upgrades, and other aspects.
In order to ease the operating pressure of cross-border merchants and speed up capital turnover, Tmall Global's cross-border merchant stores support margin sharing, reducing the margin by 50%. At the same time, it provides merchants with a cumulative amount of 4 billion yuan in advance payment services, which can be collected about 22 days in advance .
Many new overseas brands choose Tmall Global as their first stop in China, and this year's 6.18 event also provided great support to new merchants. The one-stop agency operation service provided by the platform's official service providers will reduce some commissions, and the overall cost can be reduced by 50 % . New merchants will also receive exclusive marketing resource support.
In order to facilitate the import and export of cross-border goods, Tmall Global provides cross-border merchants with a " triple guarantee of warehouse, dry cargo and distribution " service : it provides import first-leg transportation guarantee, multiple air transport routes can lock in resources in advance, and some merchants can enter the warehouse locally ; It can access the intelligent warehousing service, flexibly select warehousing locations in multiple locations, and transfer goods between different warehouses with one click; it can access the import bonded delivery service for free, and provide consumers with door-to-door delivery service through Cainiao Direct Delivery (Danniao) .
In addition, the platform rules will continue to be updated dynamically to provide cross-border merchants affected by the epidemic with an epidemic exemption mechanism , such as exemption from penalties for complaints about shipments caused by the epidemic, and no assessment of indicators such as timely collection rate and return and refund processing time. At the same time, the service channel is more unobstructed, Tmall Global has upgraded the merchant center service hall, and the online service efficiency has increased by more than 50%.
In fact, in the past two years, Tmall Global has been accelerating the innovation of new models and launching new services to build a fast channel for overseas small and medium-sized brands to enter China and better reduce costs and increase efficiency. For example, Tmall Global launched a managed store opening service; and jointly with the domestic comprehensive bonded zone, the first "bonded import + retail processing" model, which allows overseas finished product terminal processing to be pre-positioned in the domestic bonded zone, improving the efficiency and stability of the cross-border supply chain.
Data shows that in the past year, an average of more than 400 new overseas brands have settled in Tmall Global every month . So far, more than 29,000 overseas brands from 87 countries and regions have settled in Tmall Global, covering more than 5,800 categories, of which more than 80% are entering China for the first time.
