Amazon backend report adds new mobile data, sellers are upset

The announcement shows that Amazon's backend business reports have always provided sellers with traffic data from mobile and computer browsers. Now Amazon will provide sellers with traffic data from the Amazon App mobile terminal. Starting from March 29, sellers can view relevant data in the business report.

It is reported that by clicking on the "Show/Hide Column" on the left side of the business report , the number of clicks on the mobile and computer sides and the percentage of traffic respectively will appear. However, according to the data shown in the business report, Amazon currently only separates the traffic, and does not separate the orders on the mobile and computer sides.

According to many sellers, after the data update, the number of clicks on the products in the business report increased a lot, and the corresponding conversion rate dropped several times. However, for now, the store's advertising data and overall order volume have not been affected.

Regarding the distribution of mobile phone traffic and computer traffic, some sellers said that the traffic ratio between PC and APP is 1:1, while some sellers said that the App traffic is much more than that of the computer, reaching a ratio of 1:2, and even worse, the ratio can reach 1:4.

According to the distribution of traffic data, some sellers said that they need to consider the effects presented on the APP side more when optimizing links, impacting advertising positions, and natural positions.

Many sellers have complained about this change, "Does the previous business report only include computer traffic data and not mobile app traffic? In this case, the previous conversion rate has no reference value at all." Some sellers also said, "Since the traffic is displayed separately, why not display the orders brought by each separately?"

Amazon operations were also shocked. They had been working day and night to analyze product traffic, conversion rates, and order volumes. Was it just a waste of time? In addition, the update of Amazon's data may have also slapped the faces of those gold medal training instructors who always talked about the A9 algorithm!

In fact, compared with other e-commerce platforms, in addition to the larger market size of Amazon, the high conversion rate of the Amazon platform is also a reason that attracts many sellers to deploy on this platform. However, it seems that the conversion rate that sellers see in the business report is not the actual conversion rate of the product.
