Payment platform dLocal has announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with SaaS e-commerce solution BigCommerce , a collaboration that will support the expansion of the commerce platform into the Latin American market.
Under the new partnership, dLocal will facilitate cross-border and local-to-local payments to support BigCommerce’s global expansion in Latin America.
dLocal’s solution enables BigCommerce sellers for the first time to accept localized payments, such as local cards and alternative payment methods (APMs), including Boleto Bancário and Pix in Brazil, and Oxxo in Mexico . This is the first region where BigCommerce will offer cards and local payment methods.
In response, dLocal said, “We are proud to expand BigCommerce’s presence in Latin America as an important hub for their growth in the e-commerce space. Through our partnership, we look forward to supporting their expansion, both onboarding regional merchants and enabling their existing EU and US merchants to enter the Latin American market.”
BigCommerce also believes that dLocal’s knowledge and experience make them a natural partner to drive its growth in the emerging markets of Latin America, and their knowledge of effective and successful strategies in this market will be a key tool in the platform’s stronghold in the Latin American region.
BigCommerce recently announced that it has expanded its global operations to Mexico and will officially launch its LATAM business with dLocal as its payment partner at BigCommerce’s BigNews event on March 24 in Mexico City, Mexico .
BigCommerce is also constantly optimizing payment methods, and recently announced that platform sellers can provide Apple Pay as a payment option on the checkout page . Previously, sellers could only provide Apple Pay from the shopping cart page or the quick shopping cart page . This cooperation will enable shoppers to pay for orders more quickly .
With this enhancement, Apple Pay can be used as a preferred payment method by consumers in the quick cart pop-up, on the cart page, and using the standard checkout flow .
With the development of e-commerce, people's payment methods have gradually diversified. Providing more choices will help enhance the platform's competitiveness in the market. BigCommerce dLocal Latin America |
