Amazon launches new feature, sellers are expected to apply for warehouse expansion!

According to overseas e-commerce news website EcommerceBytes , Amazon has announced a new pilot program that allows certain restricted sellers to bid for more storage capacity.

 

An Amazon spokesperson said: “We are testing a new feature that allows restricted sellers to request additional storage space . As long as they use the space efficiently , they can use it at no charge.

 

Recently, Amazon sent emails to sellers with IPI scores between 350 and 400 , informing them of a new program called Storage Limit Manager .

 

Through this channel, sellers tell Amazon how much space they want in the second quarter ( April 1 to June 30) and indicate how much "reservation fee" they are willing to pay .

 

Amazon explained : " We will evaluate storage capacity every week and approve as many requests as space allows, starting with the highest reservation fee. For approved sellers, the lowest reservation fee will apply . " That is to say, the actual fees that sellers have to pay may be lower than those indicated in the request.

 

If the request is approved, the seller's storage space will be increased in the second quarter . It is important to note that the seller's account will not be charged until the end of the quarter . And the seller can use performance points to offset the booking fee .

 

Amazon says sellers can earn performance points for every dollar of sales they generate by using the extra space , which can give them the opportunity to offset 100% of the booking fee .

 

The Storage Limit Manager includes a calculator to help sellers estimate the potential cost of their request and the sales volume needed to offset the fees, and the tool’s Performance Points Preview is updated daily so sellers can always see where they stand.

 

Therefore, it is of utmost importance for sellers who receive additional space under the program to ensure that their products have a high fill rate throughout the quarter.
