FedEx and Microsoft announced new commerce, supply chain and logistics solutions on Monday that will combine the FedEx Intelligent Network with Microsoft’s intelligent business applications, Dynamics 365, to introduce cross-platform “logistics as a service” for merchants and brands.
Since the two companies partnered, their vision has been to redesign the commerce experience for businesses to provide consumers with a more integrated way to shop, as well as faster and more efficient delivery services.
In today's society, with the rapid growth of supply chains, global trade and e-commerce, customers' demand for speed, flexibility and visibility has spread to every industry. FedEx and Microsoft will use artificial intelligence and other means to explore new solutions from the FedEx network to help brands provide customers with a better experience.
It is reported that the two companies will introduce a unique data integration, combining FedEx's data with Dynamics 365's intelligent order management, to help brands easily integrate with existing e-commerce platforms to better provide order services to customers.
With approximately 60,000 pickup locations and electronic QR code technology, the new cross-platform solution helps brands provide their customers with faster, more cost-effective delivery, near real-time delivery status updates, and even more convenient and quick return services.
For brands, new technologies can help them deal with huge order volumes without having to worry about the cost-effectiveness of delivery and countless customer service calls. Brands can benefit from using existing systems to optimize delivery methods and gain real-time insights into logistics dynamics.
The epidemic has accelerated the development of e-commerce and the digital transformation of enterprises of all sizes. Before the epidemic, FedEx had predicted that domestic parcels in the United States would reach 100 million per day in 2026. Now it is expected to reach this goal four years earlier than expected, and will grow to 110 million parcels per day in 2022, of which 86% are expected to come from e-commerce.
FedEx and Microsoft have been helping companies stay competitive in the digital business ecosystem since May 2020. The integration of FedEx and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Smart Orders is expected to be available in the U.S. market in the second half of 2022. logistics E-commerce platform policy Fedex Microsoft |
