Pinterest, which has 400 million users worldwide , recently released a " 2022 Global Popular Trend Report". It is understood that the report is based on global data from the Pinterest platform from October 2019 to September 2021.
The report points out that Generation Z is driving a new accessory trend . These accessories go far beyond basic earrings, necklaces , etc. The platform found that during the selected period, searches for ear decorations (such as studs) increased by 300%; rhinestone toenails increased by 150% ; skin piercing decorations increased by 145% ; and crystal eye makeup searches increased by 110 % .
In terms of fashion, pearl jewelry is catching the attention of consumers. On Pinterest , searches for men's pearl necklaces increased by 700%, pearl dresses by 300%, simple pearl rings by 200%, pearl-themed parties by 200%, and pearl wedding decorations by 185%.
In addition, consumers are increasingly interested in brightly colored clothing. Pinterest users' searches for colorful clothing increased by 1,600%, followed by fuchsia dresses (400%), rainbow dresses (200%), electric blue dresses (140%), and gradient dresses (95%).
Meanwhile, Gothic-style products are also popular among users. Pinterest data shows that searches for Gothic pajamas have increased by 185%; Gothic baby clothing has increased by 120%; followed by Gothic business casual clothing (90%), Gothic kitchen decorations (85%) and Gothic denim (70%).
And users love checkerboard patterns, too. According to Pinterest , searches for checkered floor tiles increased 500%, followed by checkered rugs (400%), checkerboard nails (165%), checkerboard prints (160%), and checked men's suits (95%).
In terms of clocks, users' searches for oversized clock wall decorations increased by 700%; fashion watches and men's luxury watches both increased by 600%.
