Another price increase! A large number of flights to one place have been suspended, and sellers have serious cargo accumulation

Last month, there was another large-scale suspension of flights on the US route. While some sellers were wondering whether ocean freight costs would rise again, there were signs of an increase in air freight costs.

Recently, ocean freight prices have been somewhat stable, but there are reports that air freight prices will face a new round of growth. Just yesterday, a freight forwarder reported that due to the new requirements of the epidemic, Hong Kong has begun to take new quarantine measures, which has led to a serious backlog of sellers' goods.

It is reported that the new quarantine requires airlines to be isolated for 21 days, resulting in a shortage of staff and a large number of flights will be cancelled. Among them, Cathay Pacific may cancel flights to Japan, the United Kingdom, India and other places.

After the cancellation of this flight, other airlines' space has also become limited, and the tightness of space to many places in Europe will be more obvious. As many flights will be cancelled this time, some freight forwarders said that prices will rise next week.

It is understood that Emirates Airlines has also shown signs of suspending flights. The cancellation of multiple flights to Hong Kong this time is mainly due to the fact that there are 4 confirmed cases of Omicron in Hong Kong , which has led to Hong Kong taking new quarantine measures.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, all countries have been greatly affected. This is true for both air and sea transportation. Some sellers said that their goods have not been shipped for a month and they are very anxious.

In addition to air freight prices, loading and unloading fees have also fluctuated. Earlier this month, Ningbo Zhoushan Port announced on its official website that it would increase loading and unloading fees for some empty containers by 10% in accordance with relevant requirements . Industry insiders said that it is possible that multiple domestic ports will take the same measures in the future.

Whether it is flight cancellations or increased loading and unloading fees, it will undoubtedly increase costs for sellers. Two years have passed since the outbreak of the epidemic, and the phenomenon of suspension of flights and ports has occurred frequently. Now its impact is still continuing. If sellers have goods, it is better to ship them early. In addition, sellers should also carefully review and make plans for the new year in advance.
