Consumer shopping trends in the US market in 2022

It is now the end of November, and the year will be coming to an end in a month. Americans expect to be able to buy their favorite products during the "Black Friday" and Christmas season every year, but this year due to the epidemic and various factors such as shipping, the supply chain shortage has caused many Americans to fail to buy the items on their wish list during the peak season.

At the same time, the impact of the epidemic has also caused Americans to start shopping more online. According to a survey of American consumers, 78% of American consumers will choose online shopping, and more than half of them will choose the Amazon platform. However, the actual situation is not so optimistic. The logistics situation is still a headache for many merchants and consumers.

The survey found that due to the severe epidemic situation this year, the life and work plans of most Americans have been disrupted, and American consumers have more expectations for next year.

Among them, 68% of American consumers said that they would pay more attention to the quality of life next year; 55% of the group said that they would make up for the losses and shopping experiences caused by the epidemic next year; 46% of consumers have determined their travel plans for next year.

Not only that, the American people also hope that the epidemic situation will improve next year and look forward to more opportunities to travel. However, 68% of the respondents said that they will focus on self-improvement in 2022; 67% of the respondents said that they hope to have more time to spend with their families next year.

Based on these consumer survey data, it can also be predicted that in 2022, some trends in the US consumer market will change, and demand for some categories will increase, including: home office furniture , sales may increase by 157%; small kitchen appliances may increase by 22%; indoor carpet sales may increase by 29%.

Relevant sellers can pay more attention to the shopping habits and psychological changes of American consumers. At the same time, when shopping online, people prefer products with good quality and low prices. Of course, the safety and timeliness of transportation are also concerns of online shoppers.

During Black Friday, sellers can pay attention to the shopping behaviors and trends of American consumers this year, grasp the consumption trends and market demand of the target market, and make product planning, store marketing and logistics arrangements for 2022 in advance to ensure the normal operation of online sales in the US market next year.
