“We saw exponential growth in e-commerce during last year’s peak season. This year, the majority of people are still choosing to shop online, but what’s different is the emergence of new popular categories,” said Jordan Sweetnam, senior vice president and general manager of eBay’s Americas marketplace. “This is an ideal situation for eBay, as shoppers can choose the perfect gift from the items displayed by sellers, whether it’s a popular product or a unique, custom product.”
eBay said it will share some of the hottest eBay exclusives that have appeared in searches, sales and watch lists so far, divided into five categories: sports shoes, watches, handbags, toys and digital electronics.
Nike has completely dominated the sports footwear category . The top five products in terms of search and sales volume are Air Jordan 1 High OG "University Blue", Off-White x Nike Dunk Low, CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 "KOD", Nike Air Max 90 "Bacon", and A Ma Maniere x Air Jordan 3.
The top five watches in terms of search and sales are Rolex Oyster Perpetual, Omega Seamaster300, Cartier Tank Must de Cartier, Cartier Ballon Bleu, and Patok Philipee Nautilus. The top five handbags in terms of search and sales are Louis Vuitton Speedy 30, Chanel 19 Bag, Dior Saddle Bag, Fendi Baguette, and Hermes Birkin.
The top five toy products in terms of search and sales are Magic Mixies, Gabby 's Purrfect Dollhouse, Squishmallow, LOL Surprise!, and TeeTutles. The top five digital electronics products in terms of search and sales are Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700, Bose Solo Soundbar, Lenovo Thinkpad, Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless Noise-Cancelling Over-the-Ear-Headphones, and iPhone 12.
