Is it wrong to say that products are similar? Seller had more than 600 orders refunded

In addition to infringement, product quality is also something that Amazon attaches great importance to. If there is a quality problem, the product will easily face recall, which will not only require refunds to buyers, but will also have a negative impact on the store in many aspects. In particular, the CPSC often issues recall cases, and there are many on the Amazon platform.

Recently, a seller shared his own experience. However, the recalled products were not the ones he sold. He was implicated because of similarities, which was indeed a bit unfair.

According to the seller, within an hour, Amazon refunded more than 600 orders, all of which were under the same ASIN and had been successfully traded for two years. During the process, the seller did not receive any explanation or notification, and £2,500 was deducted from his account.

Generally, in this situation, the first thing that comes to mind is that the product has been recalled, but the seller is not one of them. Even if there is a recall, the product batches from two years ago should not have been included in the recall. The seller expressed confusion about this.

In the comments section, a seller said that it might be a misjudgment due to the similarity of the products. In fact, the seller has always suspected this possibility. After searching online, it turned out to be true. Recently, there have been news reports about different products from the same brand being recalled. Because they are similar, the seller may have been implicated and mistaken for the recalled product.

The seller was selling medicines for colds and flu. Recently, a batch of medicines were recalled due to incorrect descriptions of dosage on the packaging and instructions. The seller's product was very similar to one of the other products, but it was definitely not the same product. This wave of sellers were innocently implicated.

Another seller said that his Christmas decorations were classified as adult products, and although they could be purchased normally, they could not be found on the search page. This was also the seller's best-selling product, and with Christmas approaching, it caused a lot of trouble for the seller.

Due to machine algorithms, there are many "false kills". If sellers encounter similar situations, they should provide timely feedback and resolve them to minimize the losses caused.
