Ozon Black Friday sales reach 5 billion

The most important sales event of the year , Black Friday, has come to an end. So far, many organizations have announced the sales results of Black Friday in various regions.

Among them, the most eye-catching is the United States. According to a report by Adobe, online sales in the United States on Black Friday this year reached $8.9 billion, slightly less than $9 billion. In addition, Shopify also announced the situation of Black Friday this year, with global sales of approximately $2.9 billion, an increase of 21% over last year.

In addition, many sellers are also paying attention to some emerging markets, such as Russia. Recently, foreign media also reported on the Black Friday sales of Russian e-commerce platforms.

The growth momentum of emerging markets is still very strong. The report pointed out that on November 26, the day of Black Friday, the number of orders on Ozon, a mainstream e-commerce platform in Russia, increased fivefold compared with last year ; the sales on that day increased fourfold compared with last year, reaching 5 billion rubles.

It is reported that Ozon achieved very good results in the two important promotional events in November, Singles’ Day and Black Friday , but its daily sales were relatively even during the Black Friday event. There was a significant peak on November 11 (6.1 billion rubles), but its sales also rose sharply on November 28, the last day of the Black Friday promotion.

The highest-priced order during the Black Friday promotion was from Repino in St. Petersburg , who spent 444,000 rubles on a two-door refrigerator. The first order was from a buyer from the Pskov region , who bought a set of frying pans . It is also worth mentioning that Russians bought 30 tons of flour from Ozon in one hour.

Overall, the two major promotions in November attracted more than 700,000 new buyers to the Ozon e-commerce platform. The number of buyers on Black Friday increased 4.5 times. One in five people continued to participate in Black Friday after shopping on Singles’ Day. This once again proves the trend of online shopping among Russians.

On the seller side, the number of sellers participating in Black Friday is 15-20% higher than that of Double 11. This is because many sellers decided to participate in the second promotion after feeling the benefits of Double 11.

As for the most popular categories, home and garden products, beauty and health products, food, electronics, clothing and children's products were the hot categories during the two major promotions, while on Black Friday , jewelry, clothes, food, shoes, travel goods, hunting, fishing and automotive products saw rapid growth in demand.
