Does the United States also celebrate "Double Eleven"? 65% of consumers plan to shop before the holiday

As soon as it was past midnight last night, I believe a large number of Chinese online shoppers began to frantically pay the final payment and wait to sign for the packages of goods they had planned to buy a long time ago. When China's Double Eleven was in full swing, American consumers also joined this year's shopping spree in advance.

Due to the epidemic, this year's shipping and supply chains have been deeply affected. The peak season for shipping was originally only in the second half of the year, but this year's suppliers began to stock up early. Even so, the shipping situation from Asia to the west coast of the United States has not been optimistic. Coupled with the low operating efficiency of many ports on the west coast of the United States, the supply crisis in the U.S. market has been further aggravated.

This year's holiday shopping in the United States is different from previous years. Issues such as the epidemic and supply chain have prompted Americans to plan shopping before Thanksgiving. According to survey data from a U.S. consulting firm, more than 75% of American respondents are worried about not being able to buy holiday supplies , and 65 % of respondents plan to shop before Thanksgiving .

As early as October, many American consumers found that the shelves of major shopping malls were empty. People were worried that they would not be able to buy the goods they needed during the holidays, so they decided to shop in advance. Amazon also said that in mid-October alone , the list showed that 1 million holiday toys had been sold .

One American consumer said: “I don’t want to look for the products I need to buy in December, so I shop in advance to avoid having to ask about logistics at that time.”

Previously, due to port congestion, container ships carrying holiday supplies could only wait for several days at the port before unloading. Even if they were unloaded, there is a shortage of truck drivers and workers across the United States, and the goods may not be delivered to stores or customers in time. These are the reasons why American consumers worry that they will not be able to buy the goods they need during the holidays.

The problem of delayed shipments of goods in the United States this year has also become an important factor affecting American consumer behavior. Many American consumers have said that they plan to complete their holiday online shopping before November. Because it usually only takes one or two days for Amazon to deliver packages, it may now take up to one or two weeks. Therefore, they place orders before the holiday, hoping to wait for packages to be delivered by Amazon before Christmas Eve.
