Footwear product infringement cases frequently occur, Guangzhou Customs seized 12,000 "Mickey" shoe buckles

According to a report from the General Administration of Customs yesterday, recently, when customs officers at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport inspected a batch of goods declared as insoles and plastic shoe buckles at the export channel, they seized 12,000 suspected infringing shoe buckles printed with the classic Disney head of "Mickey Mouse"

Later, it was confirmed by the right holder, Disney Enterprises, that this batch of shoe buckles were indeed infringing goods that infringed its registered trademark "MICKEYMOUSEdevice" . Therefore, Guangzhou Customs has taken further action on the above-mentioned infringing goods in accordance with the law .

In addition to the above-mentioned shoe buckle products , Shantou Customs recently seized a batch of 55,656 pairs of plastic slippers printed with the "aeropad" logo that infringed the exclusive rights of the trademark. After counting, the total value of this batch of infringing plastic slippers reached RMB 773,500

At present, the case is under further investigation.

Sellers should note that China Customs has recently launched the "Operation Dragon 2021" special intellectual property protection action to strengthen supervision of infringing goods exported to North America, Europe, South America, Africa and countries and regions along the "Belt and Road". At the same time, it focuses on monitoring high-risk infringing goods such as food, medicine, cigarettes, watches, clothing, shoes and hats, luggage, toys, consumer electronics, personal care products, etc. exported to North America, Europe, Japan and other countries and regions.

Statistics show that in the first two months of this year, the customs seized 6,280 batches of suspected infringing goods , a year-on-year increase of 2.37 times. The General Administration of Customs approved 2,862 applications for customs protection of intellectual property rights, a year-on-year increase of 5%.

The 3.15 International Consumer Rights Day just ended yesterday, and consumers' awareness of rights protection has been greatly improved through media reports and their own "pitfalls". Therefore, sellers should also remember not to produce and sell counterfeit and infringing products. Such behavior not only damages the rights of consumers, but also puts themselves at risk of "losing both fame and fortune".
