American consumer shopping guide: 74% regret their purchases!

Slickdeals, referred to as SD, is the largest and most influential discount information sharing and communication platform in the United States, and is also one of the most direct promotional websites for Amazon. For Amazon sellers, doing SD can attract traffic to listings and improve rankings in the short term.

Recently, Slickdeals conducted a survey of 2,000 American consumers and found that 74% of them regretted their online shopping. The most common reasons include the value of the purchased goods being lower than expected (39%), the frequency of product use being lower than expected (34%), and spending too much money (32%).

As for why they made the purchase in the first place, many respondents attributed their purchase to good advertising (43%), a cheap price (43%), and the fact that the item came in their favorite color (42%).

73 % of respondents said they had purchased 15 items that were unsatisfactory. These people would hide the regretted items out of sight (45%), give them away to someone they know (40%) or return them for an exchange (39%).

In addition, nearly 60% of respondents said they had made an online purchase while drunk, and 83% of drunk shoppers said they would buy something "silly or frivolous."

In addition to being unhappy with the purchase itself, many people are also frustrated with the shipping process, with 63% of respondents saying they had completely forgotten they had purchased something online until the package showed up at their doorstep, and more than half (56%) saying they had no idea what they had bought until they opened the package.

The survey results show that there are sometimes delays of up to five weeks from online purchase to home delivery. 38% of respondents said this was due to delayed delivery of goods, and 36% said the package was sent to the wrong address.

At the same time, 60% of respondents mentioned that packages were stolen during transportation. But overall, 72% of shoppers said they don't mind shipping delays and think the wait is usually worth it.

In response to the survey results, Slickdeals personal finance manager Louie Patterson said that the convenience of being able to shop from the comfort of your home is unparalleled, but there are also some issues that buyers need to pay attention to. Before placing an order, be sure to check the shipping costs and return policies. In addition, be careful to identify product price traps. Some sellers will increase prices during product shortages.
