The FTC is asking Amazon, Walmart and other companies to provide detailed supply chain information

Recently, according to foreign media reports, the US Federal Trade Commission ( FTC) said on Monday that it is currently investigating supply chain disruptions at nine large retailers, wholesalers and consumer goods suppliers, including Amazon and Walmart, and suspects that these large companies are harming the interests of consumers with higher prices. Currently, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has asked the nine companies to provide detailed information on the situation.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) said in a statement that the main purpose of the study is to determine whether supply chain issues have led to specific bottlenecks, anti-competitive behavior or price increases. The US government believes that due to the impact of the epidemic, tight supply chain capacity has caused rising prices for consumer goods.

In addition, the National Grocers Association of the United States also expressed concern that large retailers use their influence to force sellers to keep supplies flowing, thereby putting some small and medium-sized business competitors at a disadvantage and causing market monopoly and other phenomena.

According to an announcement released by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission ( FTC) , nine major companies, including Walmart, Amazon, Kroger, Procter & Gamble, Tyson Foods, Kraft Heinz, C&S Wholesale Grocers, Associated Wholesale Grocers and McLane Co, will provide relevant supply chain details to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission ( FTC). These companies have 45 days to process and respond .

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission ( FTC) asked nine companies to detail the main constraints affecting their ability to obtain, transport and distribute products, as well as the impact of supply constraints on order delays and cancellations , cost and price increases, etc. Subsequently, the FTC also asked these companies to provide internal documents on supply chain disruptions, as well as profit margins and market share data.

Federal Trade Commission ( FTC) Chairwoman Lina Kha n said she hopes the study will "shed light on market conditions and business practices that may exacerbate these disruptions or lead to asymmetric impacts."
