Another case! A new coronavirus patient appeared at Hong Kong International Airport

It is understood that the Hong Kong Department of Health's Center for Health Prevention and Control stated on October 7 that it was investigating a confirmed local case of the new coronavirus. The case is a 48-year-old male who lives in Jinhui Court, Phase 1, Golden Lion Garden, Shatin, Hong Kong. He is a cargo terminal attendant at the Hong Kong International Airport .

It is reported that the airport staff needs to be tested for the new coronavirus every week. The test result on September 29 was negative, and the sample result report submitted on October 6 was preliminarily positive and confirmed to be infected with the Delta strain. However, the source of the Delta strain involved in the patient is still unclear .

According to preliminary information currently available, the patient has not traveled recently and his last working date was October 7. His workplace is mainly at the airport's Super Cargo Terminal 1. He had received two doses of the new crown vaccine in Hong Kong on June 25 and July 28.

To prevent the spread of the epidemic, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region announced that from 19:00 on October 7 , people in Golden Court, Phase 1, Golden Lion Garden, Sha Tin must stay at their residences to undergo compulsory coronavirus testing.

They can leave their residences only after all identified persons under test in the "restricted area" have completed testing and the relevant test results are roughly determined. The Hong Kong SAR government aims to complete this operation at around 6 a.m. on the 8th.
